This is looking excellent and I am eagerly awaiting its release. I do have a question though regarding whether the aircraft weight will be modeled. For example, I have recently read the books by Ed Macy ("Apache" and "Hellfire") and Damien Lewis ("Apache Dawn") and noticed that the Apache was never loaded out with a full compliment of weapons mainly due to the fact that it couldn't operate in that environment (hot and high) with such a heavy load-out and that most of the time had difficulty during take-offs. Also, many of the photos I have seen of US Apache helicopters in Afghanistan also show a reduced weapons load-out, in addition to the removal of the Longbow radar, to help save weight. So I was wondering whether this will be modeled in the game or will it be like most of the other sims where you have a full compliment of rockets, missiles, and gun ammunition and fly around like you have power to spare. In addition to this, will the user be able to chose a specific weapons load (the number of missiles, rockets, round of ammo) to carry or will it be more of a general choice, similar to EECH? Also will the amount of fuel to be carried be configurable? Thanks for any info and thanks for making this sim the one I'm looking the most forward to purchasing.

Flexman has previously stated weight of weapons/fuel etc will be modeled.

You can't avoid weight and air density which dictate lift and power required. Air density is based on US Standard Atmosphere Model 1976. Pylons calc weight based on what's loaded as do two fuel tanks. I used the pylons to calculate stores weight as all loads go through one point, any asymmetry in weight through loading, launch or jettison should be reflected (I need to look at how well that's working later).

By default more power for lift will be available so anyone can jump in and play. This is deliberate and I make no apologies for this, it's for my sanity. The logic is to avoid lots of erroneous support enquiries about faulty controllers or "this is too difficult", "it won't fly". Also when you have to launch it 20 times a day and fly to point B to test something you really want to hit a single button and go zoom.

You sharp guys who know about this stuff will be able to figure out the settings you need.

That sounds reasonable and understandable given the circumstances. Thank you for the massive effort you've put into this.

do you mean that it'll be an option ingame, or we must change it in a file with something like notepad ++

smile I live by Notepad++ ( available here if you don't know it ) but I hope not. Haven't built a user options interface yet but there will be one. A few FMS options are in one of the Apache MPD menus (as per the real aircraft).
