Just watched his brilliant performance again in "Se7en" tonight so it inspired me to create this poll about his best films.

So which are your top 5 Morgan Freeman films?

A guy I know made a great statement recently....

"Morgan Freeman could narrate an episode of Jersey Shore and make it seem like a heroic battle for freedom from oppression and tyranny."

He sure can. A lot of people think that James Earl Jones has the most distinctive voice in the business and it is very impressive but Morgan Freeman can not only project but can portray emotion like few voice actors can.

Morgan Freeman is one of my favourite actors of all time!

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

Great Poll BTW.

My favorites are Shawshank, Miss Daisey and Glory which I think all called for an actor who could make you believe he was the person he was portraying.

He had a great part in a little known film about So. Africa called The Power of One. It took me a few minutes to realize it was him when I saw the film since he was not top billed and it was a relatively small part.

Along with his movies, I really enjoy the series "Through the Wormhole".
It's a good series, but his narration just makes it better.

Unfortunately he couldn't save the worst film ever made - The March of the Penguins.

Okay, second worst. 2001: A Space Odyssey tops the list.

Interesting votes so far. It doesn't surprise me that Shawshank is currently #1.

I could have picked over half that list.

Shawshank, Unforgiven, Glory, Robin Hood, Driving Miss Daisy were my picks and there isn't one performance out of those 5 that I would say outshines the other. He did all of the roles superbly and I can't say that he kept giving the same performance for each character. To me they are different people even though the same actor played all the parts.

To me Freeman's first memorable role was as the violent prisoner kept in solitary confinement until he was released by the new reform Warden played by Robert Redford in the interesting 1980 film Brubaker.

You didn't have Lucky Number Slevin so I had to pick Driving Ms Daisy as my last choice. I hate to admit but that probably is one of his better movies even if it's not my cup of tea.......

I've got a bad feeling about this.....
