Sad.
I hope you will support them both. They both deserve it and they both need it.
Bottom line is they are both the only ones capable of making quality sims for the time periods of WW1 and WW2 at this moment.
If either of them fails I wonder if the gap will ever be filled.
Hopefully they will both succeed.
They need to. For we, flightsim enthusiasts, need them.

I think 777 Studios (Rise of Flight) is the sever underdog here, and they need to address some isses with the graphics as it looks "Ok" on my GTX 470. They seem to have a certain GPU bias (ATI) compared to Il2's Speedtree which seems to level the playing field for everyone.

Got to be joking - I think RoF looks miles better than CoD whilst being smooth and great gameplay, and an upcoming dynamic career as well. CoD, much as I like it, is 25% as good as RoF. Probably because on my computer the towns in CoD look like toytowns and the map is not populated with anything to shoot at nor can you do any quick user missions.

I agree, ROF looks head and shoulders better. When i go from ROF to CLOD, it's jarring how much less good CLOD looks and i end up going right back to ROF. The terrain and colors look alot nicer in ROF. The cities in ROF look amazing and you can actually fly over them without stutters.

I have to agree, at the moment ROF looks better to me too. But ROF also had a 1/1/2 to get where it is. COD just came out. Give them a chance to patch it and add stuff to it. It will be a great sim at some point. It already is a great sim, I just like ROF better at the moment. I like them both a lot. I agree we need to suport them all and show the developers that flightsim are not dead.

Todays patch is a big step forward on performance. Reckon you might be 1 years, 364.5 days out on your estimate

You have to blame french for that biggrin Seriously, RoF is quite accurate infact if you look rivers forest, etc.

You can get used to everything, but icicle in the a**. It melts before you get used to it.

I don't like RoF terrain at all...no mans land looks terrible...I actually prefer CoD terrain....though niether shine in my opinion in this respect....

I do expect CoD to get alot better looking once they sort out the AA for a start...RoF planes look superb....Il2CoD will get better again I'm not seeing the true beauty yet due to the AA...

I feel CoD has more atmosphere and has already much more potential to expand this in game than RoF has at the moment...

Both good sims...both will be great sims...I'm a WW1 obsessive and enjoy RoF, it's more a simmers sim than a atmospheric WW1 flight sim if you get my meaning...CoD oozes potential to really nail WW2 down...

Out of the two I say own both....as a guess I'd say CoD may just beat RoF for overall entertainment in the future...

Once you install COD it's linked to your steam account so you can't sell it unless you sell all the games wit your account

Support both,

At the moment ROF is miles ahead of COD..

On my system ( loooow ) E8600 @4G 8G ram 4870X2. ROF runs at medium to high settings while COD even with the patch is nearly unflyable at low settings.

But like previous posters said it ain't a competition.. we need to support them both.. ( $200+ already at ROF, Russian and CE edition of COD )
