The highest setting in the FMB is "medium clouds". No heavy clouds, no rain, no thunderstorms. Not sure what the "weather-map" is supposed to do - even the FMB warns to use it at your own risk .. When I activate it, all I'm getting is a grey blob where the map used to be. *shrug* Anyway: Here are some pics I took with clouds set to medium: S.

Thanks for the pics sascha When I activate it, all I'm getting is a grey blob where the map used to be. *shrug* Say...That's not the famous British fog, is it? Will the game actually run with the advanced weather switched on?

You know: I haven't tried it yet, since there doesn't seem to be anything I can *do* to the dynamic weather map in the FMB. Tried LMB, RMB, scrolling, zooming. The screen just didn't budge.. so I switched it back off. But I'll give it a try during my next hop ... I promise.. S.

I'm getting a Force 12 hurricane centred on Dover did maelstroms exist in August 1940 or has someone pinched the plug again

In the FMB object browser there's a category called "local weather". You can actually set up titanic clouds towering up high ... but don't try to set them to dynamic, that crashed my game. Would love to see that!!! Any chance of a screen grab posted here?

Aahhh... so these formations are treated as objects? Hmm.. no wonder I didn't find them... EDIT: Just tried to get me some bad weather into the mission, but so far: no luck. Seems a bit bugged anyway. The only item I could select was "thunder" (prolly thunderstorm). If I set the object to anything else ("overcast", "overcast with breaks") it'd would simply revert to "thunder". I placed one thunderstorm right on top of my plane. And this is what happened in the mission: Checked all around and below me on external view, but it was blue skies and a few fluffy white clouds as far as the virtual eye could see ... S.

There is also an object "Thunderstorm" in the local weather category.

Thank you muchly!!!!!
Hopefully not too much of a hit on frame rate. Probably too much to ask for at this early stage, but can the enemy AI "see" you in the clouds, or can you lose him/them?
Regardsless, the potential is there, including multiplayer (anyone remember Fighter Duel?)

It seems as if right now only one such object in a limited area works (that is very much a guess!) ... the RS and RB line are about dimensions, H is for altitude (lowest) and then there's a second tab with more settings (which are garbled in my german installation BTW) including such things as "Layers" and a number of gust settings.

Great screenshots!
By any chance, could you try leading a couple of enemy fighters into the soup to see if they still engage you or --hopefully--lose you?
Thanks so much -April 19 seems a long way off yet!
