Using my standard "benchmark"-mission. 110s & 109s OTW to Dover vs. Hurris and quite a few Blens heading on a collision-course towards France. Quite a good test-mission this IMO, especially if you fly it for a while, since it'll put you over sea/land/sea/land and has a reasonable number of AC in it.
Anyway: So far, the only noticable difference for me was the inclusion of city-names on the FMB-map.
Other than that, I'm still getting micro-freezes and big freezes during gun-runs (DM/ballistics still causing huge FPS-drops it seems). "Rubber-banding"-effect while flying low over the terrain is also still noticable plus I think they have replaced it to some degree with good-old-fashioned FPS-drops. Looking around the cockpit at a formation of planes also causes stutters.
Max/average FPS under ideal conditions have not improved for me. Still getting around 40 FPS when everything does run smoothly (over water, no planes in my immediate area).
If anyone is interested, here's the mission I'm using for testing:
I would LOVE to watch them testing this in their office, on their PCs. Alternate universe stuff. Parallel reality. Cloud Cuckoo Land. How can it be like this on our PCs? What is fundamentally different between our hardware and theirs?! It defies the ability to explain in any rational manner. Just WHAT is their fundamental malfunction?!

For me with the spec below I'd say a 2-3 fps increase over land. The stuttering/micro freeze is still horrendous, no improvement that I can detect there at all. Something I didn't notice pre-patch was an over-speed 'juddering' effect when flying the Hurricane which is quite nicely done. I didn't expect a miracle given that the patch is only a couple of days work but a bit disappointed all the same.

Werner, it is a beta, stop jumping up and down like a little kid, there was no obligation to install the patch and I still see the patch at 1C, downloading it now.
I know that already most are only seeing minor improvements but really with people like you Werner they are damned if they do damned if they don't, why not just stick to giving relevant information on what is a beta patch, if they thought it was spot on they wouldn't have called it a beta.
Change the resolution in conf ini to match your desktopresolution. In official forum i read that other than desktopresolution results in strange behavior of the gameresolution. Maybe setting ingame to desktop resolution or vice versa helps?
just a suggestion!

Yeah, I already found that by choosing max rez in options (my native rez of 2560 x 1600) the game will go full-screen. And FPS shows an increase from 6fps to 9fps. At 1650 x 1050 I see fps increase to 25fps from 20fps but game is windowed (full-screen on in options so not a proper window). This is with trees and buildings on LOW. And I have to go through Task Manager to get the game to appear at all.
They're clearly well out of their depth at this point and the body will be recovered later. Yes, it's a beta, but of a patch they thought they had nailed but just needing a general public test before putting it out through Steam. What's it's actually done is bust the game worse than it was before.
I'm pretty much done with this POS. God help the game when they start trying to implement multicore support...oh my god...can anyone imagine?! If somebody was to describe them as "fumbling bufoons" right now I'd find it hard to argue.
Then maybe just give it a pause and come back in few weeks/months. Ranting around doesnt help anyone.
Anyone else getting weird controller issues with the beta?. I'm just attacking some wellingtons in a bf-110. When I get close enough to start firing my controls seem to change and become over-sensitive / and I get a massive amount of left aileron. When I'm not near the bombers its ok, only happens when i get close.
I'm seeing a bit better performance with this patch but its not acceptable still. I am however seeing worse stuttering when I get close to the bombers.
Wasn't a Fraps-thing. Even without capturing, that's pretty much how it looks for me right now ... maybe a bit better, but far from play- or enjoyable.

I always find this advice kind of irritating (even if not directed at me) as it sounds like people are basically expected to "pay now, play later". I wonder how UBI would like it if my CC company tells them they'll actually transmit my money in three weeks or two months after sale.
If you have bought the game it is a case of 'pay now play later'.. no point in going mad over it, you have what you have. Now you can either accept that and play as is and wait for it to be put right.. or you can continualy vent your rage like some of our posters.. will 'that' improve the game? absolutely not, it just continues to pollute the system with useless posts because we already know thee game is in a state. If you don't own the game you can make a descision to buy as is, or wait until the game improves.. it really is not worth people getting mad over something they have no control over.. If people are determined its crap and will always be crap, then they can bin the game and leave us alone to try and sort our crap game out.. Jesus, its not rocket science!
+5 FPS improvement with patch average 20FPS in London QM but I get lot more stutters and freezes.Played on medium and low settings not much difference.1920x1080 res, system specs in my sig
