After updating EECH with all the latest patches and improvements, my HIDSS will not work. I arrived within visual range of my target and wanted to use my HIDSS to identify targets, but i was unable to pick out targets. When i returned to base i turned on my HIDSS again and still was unable to pick out targets. The HIDSS worked before the updates, has anyone else encountered this?

game.cfg: when you have just installed eech by default the avionics in the options menu is set at "novice". This means that you cannot operate the targetting systems, it is done for you in the game by the "copilot". Set this option at advaced when in the game for full operation. When you delete the game.cfg and it is recreated by the game, the option is reset at novice!

Let me clarify.............

Of course i knew that the avionics were set to novice. Even if i didn't change from simple to realistic the HIDSS would STILL work. I changed to realistic as soon as i updated the game. This is not the issue. I cannot pick up targets with HIDSS. My radar, flir, and dtv work perfectly. Could someone please assist instead of lecture on points that i already understand.

p.s I have no problems my end with HIDSS..so i'm not sure what the problem could be?

I understand what gotcha has done and i appreciate it, but at the same token, he has no right to abuse or try to embarass me by dismissing my problem as a non-issue

that was not my intenstion at all. Since I did not add any abuse or other words except a copy of a post that reaction seems a bit overdone.

So, why is my HIDSS not working? I can't even pick up my wingman when i pan over to his position. Is there something that i need to change in the .ini file? It defeats the purpose of stealth when i have to use the radar and i am not a big fan of the FLIR or DTV. The HIDSS is my secondary sensor of choice. By the way, it is not that you were abusive, Gotcha, you were more dismissive of my problem. I rarely post because i usually figure out my problems on my own, so i would never post something that could be found in the FAQ or read me files. When i do post, it is something that i have never encountered and can't find info on how to fix it. Has the parameters for using the HIDSS changed with the update?

I havem't followed the code for a while but I don't think it has changed. The man to ask is arneh, he has done the last changes. Mayne send him a private mail?

Yea the sim is so modded that a lot of people suffer indervidual problems..as KC said a clean reinstall sorts out the majority of problems..hell we have all done it countless times :p

That is the LAST thing i want to do is re-install the game........ i am hoping that i can do some individual tampering on the .ini to resolve this issue. I will keep working at it and give an update if i find a solution.

That seems an over-reaction to me!

Anyway, is the problem specific to some helo? I am in the middle of a campaign, and one of my birds has a damaged HIDSS, which doesn't seem to get repaired no matter how often I complete a mission and it gets back to its base. It makes it very hard to engage the enemy.
