I am glad to own #27. I feel fortunate to work at a research university, with grants that sometimes allow me to play with toys that I would normally not be able to afford. Having played with or used the TM Warthog, TM Cougar, the Logitech G940 and Saitek X65, I still always return to my good ole CH stuff, and that is what I have on my main rig at home (image above). Cant say enough good things about the Franken Potato and its ability to correct the only major fault in the CH Pro Throttle,...the lack of trim dials. Which reminds me Ken, have you ever considered placing the front right left index finger rotary inside the body of the Pro Throttle (so that it is like the pinky rotary). If you rotated it 180, it would be much easier to use. What'ya think ? S! - WD
If you can defeat me in a fair same altitude duel, you are either Hartmann's ghost or you have a ganja problem that needs treatment.

S! - WD I'd have to look into that. But, the reason I did it the way it is, is so that there would be an X Y axes, so to speak that you could feel. As in move one axis fore and aft, and the other left and right.

Consider the option of placing that second index finger rotary in the same manner as the pinky. Offer both options if you can, ... some might prefer have the X-Y rolls as you suggest and others might prefer X-X rolls. I use the index rotary to control aileron roll (and sometimes, two other functions) in LOMAC, and prop pitch in IL2, but it would be much easier for me to use if rolled in the same direction as the pinky rotary. (and I would gladly send it back to you and have you do it at your reasonable fee).

I have not tried to take apart the head of the CH Pro Throttle (only the base, for cleaning). I wouldnt mind at all in the next few months to drive up to your place but first, could you do some dimension checking, to make sure that you have enough room to mill (or dremel) out the space as you did for the pinky rotary and still not have obstruction issues. I am not sure how tight the PCBs are inside the frontal head area there.

Yep Wrecking, I fly LOMAC all the time but everytime I use Xfire or Hyperlobby, it is almost dead. In the early days I went looking for all the aces to duel with and I did find a few, but seems like most folks either fly offline these days or have moved on. I am getting into Falcon, but I really like LOMAC cause it is a decent fighter sim but without actually needing to know how the real F16 flies, LOL.

Great work on that 531 Ghost. Would you be able to Frankenpotato an old gameport Pro-Throttle or just turn it into a USB controller? If it can be done, I'd give one of my brothers one of the throttles. Thanks for any info which you can throw my way.

Gameport? I'm sure it can be done BUT would not run through WinXP on up, let alone run in Control Manager. It would be a LOT easier/cheaper to just get a ProThrottle.
