If this is legit, then I'll follow the progress since nearly any flight sim interests me.

I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

As I posted in one of the other threads about this (um, I guess the title falls under Civ AV sims?), there has been news floating about since the 28th or so. Also, there was an april fools "take on helicopters:zombie" video, so I think the title itself is legit.

Plus, the title "arma" never made sense to me either.

They could call it mud for all I care though. We need a modern Heli sim, not that I'd be any good at it rolleyes

I think this is awesome news. I do not understand how sim fans can not be interested in this.

Hehe, the best part of that "DLC" website is the one that says:

Quote:
A free beta version of Arma 4 (note: requires always-on connection)

"Suck it on" UBIsoft and ALL other companies that use similar protection schemes!! This alone makes me a complete supporter of BIS and their products (such as ArmA like I already am a long time ago and the upcoming "Take On Helicopters")

Actually, Arma in greek means chariot/tank.

Of course I'm not sure they knew that when they named it Arma, which is an abbreviation of Armed Assault.

Very interested.
Suspect the suspect FM and control of Arma choppers will lead to some resistence, and the game itself will be more a game than a sim (no bad thing of course) but definitely on my list. Gonna give ARMA 2 another try...
Cheers,
Keith

ARMA was mainly choosen as it means weapon (along some other means) in latin and many other languages (and it's short smile )

There is complete devblog entry about the name story
