Let's make this a FAQ thread. ##############################conf.ini######################################
How to disable epilepsy filter?
Go to video options and uncheck epilepsy filter box.
################################in-game########################################
How to turn off radio/engine messages?
It's a hidden window. Hold ALT and select it with RMB. Then RMB again and select option to hide window.
How to display frame rate?
Same command as original IL2. Shift + Tab opens command prompt. Type "fps START SHOW". Type "fps STOP HIDE" to disable.
How to use external views?
Hold MMB to move view around. Hold MMB and RMB to move view in/out. Hold MMB and LMB to shift view.
How to bail out?
You need to open cockpit window or canopy first. Or jettison canopy. Then bail out.
################################game options###################################
Is there a Force Feedback settings?
There is no FF setting in game. You can change conf.ini to turn on/off FF.
[rts_joystick] FF=1 (default =1)
*G940 users, use window's game controller to lower centering spring FF.
Is there a way to disable 'head-roll'?
In realism options, disable "head shake".
Is there a volume control in this game? There is no option in the game for that. Therefore use your speaker knob to change volume or system's volume mixer. ##################################STEAM####################################
Can you choose an install location or does it automatically place it in the Steam folder?
Game is installed in a steam folder and under C:/users/... You can not change that. Therefore install Steam in a desired place such as different drive or directory. My STEAM is installed in my 'game' hard-drive.

I have questions! 1: How to enable AA? I've tried everything from trying to force it through the card, app controlled, 3rd party apps, magic spells, child sacrifice, everything. 2: How to enable V-Sync? See above. 3: IS THERE A VOLUME CONTROL IN THIS GAME, IF SO WHERE? How to turn off radio/engine messages?
It's a hidden window. Hold ALT and select it with RMB. Then RMB again and select option to hide window. Thanks!

Does more ram makes a difference. Will 12 megs see an improvement over 4 megs of ram? I've heard it won't make any difference.

RAM in general doesn't increase FPS. It reduces loading times and prevents stutters caused by texture/object loading.
Furthermore, in order to actually use more than 3+ GB of RAM the game has to be coded as a 64 bit application. AFAIK CoD currently does NOT provide a 64 bit executable.
And even then performance difference is probably marginal, as with the 32 and 64 bit versions of DCS:A-10c.

In the config file, find the line [BOB] and write following next line. "AntiEpilepcy=0", save config.
At the risk of obsessing too much, and revealing myself to be IT-clueless, can I ask about the antiepepcy line? Is "AntiEpilepcy=0" the same as "AntiEpilepcy = 0" (with spaces surrounding the "equals" symbol)? Thanks. [By the way, my faith in SimHQ is slowly being restored. The "community" seems to getting to it, approaching CloD as a problem which needs to be solved collectively and constructively. A real community (in a virtual sense of the word). There's the odd breakout of Tourette's and I-dance-on-your-grave-ism, but things around here are becoming exciting! S! to Sim, Frog, Lixma and the other pathfinders with patience and intelligence.]
