With the loss of Oleg will Il2 continue? Are the Russian front, Mediterranean and other theaters likely to be developed?

It seems Luthier will take over for now.

It's all supposition and hearsay until Oleg says something official that hasn't been mullered by online translation tools.

Even if Oleg was to go, the core team is still there and you have Ilya who knows what he's doing - not worried if it is the case, a shame, but no, I wouldn't see it as the end IMHO.

The core of the game is done,so Oleg can do other things and take some mental rest.Luthier and the team will continue development
but Oleg already stated he WILL NOT abandon 1C.
My guess he will remain as a consultant and an inspiration, like a maestro, but living the hard job to the orchestra musicians.

Ilya has already been running the show for a year and a half or so from my source.

Agreed about Ilya. He's very competent and knows what he's doing.

Could we could end up with a 777 logo in the game sometime in the future? LOL J.K. Jason.

With a decent road map of what's to come, I think things are in good hands. If what has been said in updates is true, then it's a matter of turning features on as PC's progress. Other than modeling a plane's FM, development of future theatres is a matter of art work and talent..... which we know is in abundance at 1C.

I think that 777 will be the new popular sim company like Maddox Games is. So if Oleg leaves and the company disbands, we still have another company that will produce AAA quality content.

Rowan's BoB would have died many years ago if dedicated modders hadn't grabbed the source code - and there would have been no subsequent WOV.

CoD is going to be at the forefront for a very long time. There will be more than enough development interest to make sure it stays that way. Have no doubts about that.

Luthier:

"Also wanted to chime in and let you guys know you can fully expect us to continue to support the product and the series.

Also, regarding Oleg's leaving game development, I believe that was a "I'm so tired of you guys" in response to a bucket of crap poured onto him in youtube comments more than anything. I don't want to speak for Oleg of course, but perhaps you should at least wait for official news before running around with your hair on fire! A man like Oleg can't just leave game development on a whim even if he wanted to!"

Do you hear that, Fezzik? That is the sound of ultimate suffering. My heart made that sound when the six-fingered man killed my father.

I love how you guys keep saying it's Ubisosft's game. It's not. It's all 1C. Ubi just delivers some boxes to stores.
