in the US at least, you also get a free copy of silent hunter three if you pre-order. I canceled my ubi.com and switched it over to Steam smile

Cool. I was getting worried. smile

Looking at the store page it also shows 'Steam Cloud enabled' too. A bit surprised with that, as in that is quite deep integration with the Steam API - it basically means you can choose to have your saved games/logs stored online so that you if you change PC then your game info get's installed for you (think 'settings directory in the sky' type concept).

Now not surprised Oleg has confirmed that for MP you will need Steam either way. They've gone the full Steam route.

I'd expect some add-ons and DLC store additions to come - great market in them, plus Steam does well with those kind of deals (Railworks! wink )

Just downloaded/installed a game from Steam that was 9.5GB in 50 minutes. I wasted an hour driving to and from a BestBuy that carried Pacific Fighters way back when it was released. WWII combat sims are rare, and even rarer on the shelves. I'm glad I won't have to go on a hunt to get it.

Just bought mine..

Available: 1 April 2011
This game will unlock in approximately 1 week, 5 days and 15 hours

However, for the first time I've ever noticed on a Steam purchase, the unlock date prior to buy had an asterisk beside it. Do Steam know something we don't?

From Canada and the US it shows:

This game will unlock in approximately 1 month, 3 days and 15 hours

Sad Panda is sad.

Why the wait for us US folks? I could understand for a retail boxed release but for digital? almost 3 weeks later than Europe and Russia? I'm going to go insane trying to contain myself.

At least starting in a few weeks we will see lots of comments and videos online to wet our appetites from the people who have the sim.

One thing I'm not sure of, simply due to the strange way the DRM is being described. Apparently you will be able to play single player without Steam. However, I wonder if it'll be possible to just input my serial/key into Steam and ignore the disc should I so choose. Personally, I quite like Steam, and wouldn't mind it if this game was sitting there. It doesn't matter though, as either way, I'm getting it!

Just pre-ordered myself, April 1st is the date given, pleased to see that the Aussie price is the same as for the US, depending on the exchange rate, there was talk of it being $90au which would have been a bit of a swindle, although I would pay that much if all others were paying $90, $50au was a bargain when you think of the fun you get out from these games that's only $10 more than I paid for Il2 back in the day, can't wait.

Hey, if the sim turns out to be crap you will avoid wasting your money...

Just checking ... have they mentioned yet if multiplayer is going to have local network play and dedicated servers or is it going to be steam only? Sorry if I sound ill-informed, but I AM INDEED :P
