Might be for the boxed set. Haven't heard about the download version yet.

I'm fine with dig-downloads, so I hope that date is unaffected for it.
As long as I can burn my download like I could/can with WoP, I'm happy.

Rule of thumb is that they release simultaneously unless, like Black Shark or FC2, the plan was originally to release digitally first.

True but there may have been a problem releasing the box set at the same time. The choice would be to either delay the entire release (which may still happen) or do a digital first release.

This is all conjecture on my part. I honestly don't know.

Could be the ploy by "The Man" all along. In a quest for $ and sim domination the true plot was to guage how many people would actually by a digital download. Once factoring the gross recipts of sales they could decide how much to invest in a physical copy. Either way "The Man" saves his bacon due to bad press if he were to ship world wide. Mwwwha ha ha!

The above statement has no physical or psycological association with the publisher of the forementioned series COD and everthing west of Russia. darkcloud

April 19th could be the Ste*m planned release date too. Would be consistent of them needing a bit longer to sort that out, plus coordinate the North American box with St*am launch.

It'll certainly be odd if on the European launch dates before that you have to use St*am to MP but can't actually buy it on St**m. Hmmm.

You don't need to put asterisks in it FF. I don't care if Steam is mentioned in a thread, only if it is the focus of a thread.

That may be true, didn't think of that possiblity too.

I think 19th April is the US release date. 25th March UK.

UBI is still showing the 25th for all editions, and they've also updated the box image.

The Ubisoft store for the Canadian (and I assume US) market has updated to have at least the same box art (they left in a 'file not found error' before - perfectionists eh?). They are still saying 2011/04/19 here though.

I have VPN and a UK credit card, so will have to cheat the system as I'm not going to wait around smile

Tom - yep, asterisks - was taking the mickey a bit - sorry! smile

Actually looking at the UK version of the shop over VPN it seems as if the March 22nd date is for the physical box-set only? Unlike the Canadian and US stores I can't seem to find a UK March download edition at all?

I can't understand how the physical disk edition is available in a certain region first, but then the digital download can only be offered later.

Hmm, if I was feeling cynical I'd suspect that they are gathering pre-orders for the disk/collectors edition and then expect to give them a delivery time of 2/3 weeks, i.e. manufacture them late as people have preordered and then release it all about the same time in April.

The download version is there and has the same 25th March date:

Obviously you'll need to use your proxy to see it.

Funny how the UK has Cliffs of Dover on top with a small IL2 Sturmovik and others are reversed.

I can see UBI going for a stupid pointless staggered release again.
