Yes! I've been waiting. Now I'm finally going to buy this game. I loved SoC, but only after it was modded.

Sure, NOW that I'm 2/3 of the way through they finally release this.
I played the original game unmodded and then with Complete 2009 and it was so much better with the mod. I never played Clear Sky with it, but whenever I play it a 2nd time I will.
Sigh. Well, at least I'll have a point of comparison now.

it works with the Steam version. there are 2 versions of the mod available. one is a .zip file and one is a .exe installer version. Readme:
Compatibility:

Designed for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat version 1.6.02 (the latest version):
- Retail
- Steam
- Direct2Drive
Install:
1. Copy 'gamedata' folder from Call of Pripyat Complete archive to main S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat directory
(the whole folder, not just its content).
Default directory:
C:\Program Files\Bitcomposer Games\S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat
Steam default directory:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\stalker call of pripyat
2. Choose whether NPCs will be killed upon contact of the advancing emission wave, at its end (as in the base game),
explode, or turned into zombies, by copying the 'surge_manager.script' file from the corresponding folder in 'options'
and pasting it to 'gamedata\scripts' folder, overwriting all files. The 'Bodies Explode' option is installed by default.
Uninstall:
----------------------------------------
1. Delete or rename the 'gamedata' folder.

Alright. Got the mod. I'll try it in Veteran mode. x-ray engine failed on start.....lovely. Edit: I tried in DX11, DX10 and DX9 mode. Crash during a start.  Error "X-Ray 1.6 Egine has stopped working" Edit. Found solution. Load basic CoP and start a mission. Quit game and install mod. Then it should start without problems.

Installed the Complete mod this weekend and began playing. It adds some really nice touches (ability to shoot out lights, better weather and landscape, sky, and horizon graphics, NPC variety, ability to loot money from corpses, increased AI combat tactics). STALKER CoP is pretty much a PC shooter as it's made to be- no dumbing down, and it requires pateince and planning instead of just running and gunning. Plus, it runs really well at 2560x1600 at max settings (without AA or AF) on my 4-year old machine.
If you haven't played this game, and like shooters (scary ones, at that), then this game is a must. As is this mod.

PS- If you run Vista or 7, run the mod installer as an admin. Don't forget to also apply the patch for the mod.

I'm in the middle of a playthrough on vanilla COP. Curious to see what it adds. Loved SOC complete, and, arguably the first game really benefitted from it. Would like to see how Pavel improves on what was the most stable and mature boxfresh release from the Stalker guys.

I'll replay CoP with the mod but I wish I'd waited a few weeks to start it so I could've used it from the start because as I said the original game was a lot better (but harder) with the Complete 2009 mod. I've yet to replay Clear Sky with Complete because I've been busy with all these other games like Mass Effect 1/2 and my just-bought Metro 2033.

Yeah, I hear you. After you get back to where you were though using COmplete you will likely be happy you did. I'm having fun shooting out the lights and creeping up on enemies. And the landscape (in terms of texture quality, variety, and draw distances) and weather are noticeably cooler looking.
