Well, if Amazon can ship boxes, why would Brick&Mortar stores not carry them?

Gamestop has all put given up on PC Games. They havent had a PC section in years. I dont even bother going in there.

I hope it's available in shops for those of you who prefer this method, but I just don't care for having my data on discs any more. I'd rather have it on a HDD, and backed up elsewhere (another HDD, tbh). It saves space & is more quickly accessible. Additionally, I download at 20mb, so to my mind, there's simply not enough advantage to the disc. I suspect many others feel the same, and ultimately, this is where we are going. I'd be very surprised if the next gen consoles didn't use downloading as their main distribution method. If it's entirely proprietary, then it'll be that much harder to pirate too.

Because that's 99 percent of their customer base.

Actually, there was a good article posted on the Steam forums of retailers - the brick and mortar type - blaming Steam and digital distributors. I find it funny they are blaming Steam when they stopped stocking their shelves before Steam started selling games through Steam Werks.
