I have to say I am partial to Jack Daniels Black. Maybe it's an acquired taste, I have no idea, but I rather like it. smile

I used to haul out of Lynchburg, maybe that also has something to do with it.

I prefer Single Malts like Laphroaig, The Macallen, and Pinch.

But too much of any whiskey, even a protestant whiskey like Bushmill's, and well, the whole bar will be fighting... I will make sure of that. Evil fire water.

If I'm feeling rich then it's Woodford's Reserve or Makers 46 (just recently tried this and it is excellent) and I drink it neat, even ice messes up the flavors.

If I'm feeling a little rich then it's plain Makers neat or rocks

If I'm not feeling rich then it's Jim Beam Black, this kinda needs rocks but it's still good for the price.

If it's not Scotch or Irish then...

It's not Whisky or Whiskey.

For whisky I'm partial to Double Wood, by Dalwhinnie. (Writing this as I still savour the lingering sensation on my tongue) But I also like Balvenny, Glenlivet Nadura and Glenfiddich. yeah

Did you know that the Balvenie distillery is contained within the grounds of the GlenFiddich distillery? Balvenie was my second best selling malt whisky after Glenmorangie thumbsup

You're doing it wrong.
Whiskey is for sipping and relaxing.

I don't drink whiskey often. But when I do it's Jameson, or Tullamore Dew.

One thing for Scotch purists to remember is that the distillers usually put their product in used bourbon, sherry, and other barrels for mellowing / maturation, but mostly bourbon since we can't reuse our barrels (US law states that bourbon must mature in new freshly-charred oak barrels). So even a single malt is not so single. smile

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

In 1990 We went on an eight day tour of the Oktoberfest in Germany. 32 of us on an old London Routemaster Double decker bus. Kiwis, Aussies and Brits. Jack Daniels and Coke was the drink of choice on the way there. When we crossed in to Germany there was a border crossing point, a pretty informal affair and there was a general store next to passport control. We noticed they were selling cans of ready mixed Jack Daniels and Coke....Jackpot. None of us had seen these before. So we said to the girl at the counter that we'd take them. When she asked 'how many?' the answer came back 'All of them' Six palets of fourty eight cans each were duly loaded on to the bus. They didn't even last more than two days smile

My favourite is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A'bunadh

It is an ultra-smooth single malt scotch, and actually it is quite different from batch to batch, but the quality is indisputable. I have several bottles at home...
