Looking better all the time.. for the true impact of the pics in large size, it's good to see them over at the 'yellow' site. smile

How pretty is that?

I think everyone can agree that the adoption of a grey/green paint job on later marks was an aesthetic faux pas.

Gorgeous shots, especially the ground pics. Movie makers will be very happy with this sim I bet. smile

Well...i think all the shots look fantastic.
very happy to see the landscape looking much better, also nice to see a few more skins for the spit and 109. Cant wait to see to them a little more messed up though.

The ground does look more realistic in WoP, but the planes always looked much lower quality. Also there is always a very heavy haze effect, coupled with a green tint in WoP that I thought was overdone. The detail in the actual ground level shots from CoP is amazing. The aerial shots of the ground look like a much improved IL2, which is not a bad thing.

Under the wings of the Stuka are the letters S and U. What was the purposes of those and what does S/U mean?

When uploading an image to SimHQ, select "lightbox" instead of "traditional".

WoP looks like viewing the earth through brown tint sunglasses. Looks good for an artistic point of view, but realistic it is not.

For an added two cents:

I agree with Nuggetx that the terrain looks better in WoP. In a sort of post processed satelite picture kind of way. RoF has the same feel with post effects on. Good thing we can switch it off. CoD terrain looks balanced, realistic with the objects on the ground and aircraft flying over it. People that like the Hollywood effects will like the WoP or RoF post effect look. I like it to be as realistic as possible. Maybe fun for the movie makers to create a certain atmosphere but 99% of the time WoP looks unrealistic.

Only thing I'm worried about is if all this goodness is going to run smooth on a top of the line machine.

These CoD screenies really show how the optimization is coming along. They look fabulous!

Funny how the moaning hordes can go on and on about the colours being off in development updates, just to be silenced when the sim is tuned, as always happens in the end of development.

BTW, any comparison with WoP is ri-di-cu-lous.

WoP is a game - just like Call of Duty - and CoD is a Sim. - Just look at the map size differences...

Plus, if we want to make straw-men dance - WoP looks absolutely *terrible* compared to HAWX 2 reading

Nice pics but I can't see if they're removed the Spit-pilot's heavily reclined deckchair.

Is it still necessary to precise that when one talks about WOP, one talks about WOP ground textures, but not about WOP ugly yellow filter ?
