Some parts of the video were new to me aswell, especially flying over the city. Its certainly not perfect, but still very very good. This sim should be a pleasure to fly now, especially knowing that the sim will be constantly updated for many years if all goes well. thumbsup

Visually speaking it's the high contrast internal shadows that are making me slightly moist. Hope they look as good in 'real-life' as they do in the vids.

And then think about that this video was done on a build of CoD from no later that October as it was shown at Igromir in early November! That's some 6 months of optimization and tweaking until the zero-day patch!

The bad news with videos, like this one, is that the game does not look as good as it will when you actually play. The good news is that the game looks awesome in the video.

Instead of complaining about SPAD 7s, Central pilots should capture and fly them too. I suggest putting an apple in the middle of your Aerodrome field and just wait. Eventually a SPAD 7 will come by to get the apple, cause SPADS can't resist apples. This is how the Entente gets a hold of SPAD 7s, m-kay?

The smoothness of a video like that is irrelevent, as Luthier said that any Pc can make a smooth video with the highest settings, with the new ''video tool'' build-in Il2:COD.
He said that if your PC is crap, it'll just take a lot of hours to render

This concerns me a little, after luthier has said how badly COD runs on his own PC we then see videos running real smooth, my first thoughts were 'Wow' there is going to be no problem running this game, but after the info on the video tool I can now see why it takes a long time for them to show us any video, these take time to make, and it also maybe the reason why they are reluctant to show any video just shot from inside the cockpit because that would most likely show slow down and stutter.

I have to agree TREE. I believe you have some valid worries here.

I'm surprised at this sudden revelation. Of course there will be frame rate issues with a sim this complex. The developer will be optimizing the sim until it has to be sent to the publisher, and optimizing again for the next update. If your system is having problems flying near cities or airfields there are options you can set to alleviate the problem.
