Not sure it's a subject that can be discussed on the forum so I won't discuss no cd's. However if your CFS3 requires a CD to be insterted then so does OFF. If your CFS3 CD/DVD does not then OFF does not (UBISoft does a DVD version that does not require their DVD to be inserted to play for example).

Ordered CFS3 from Ebay $14 inc shipping . then ordered OFF CD and found out it cost $9 to ship which is a total RIPOFF. if i had not already ordered CFS3 I would not have continued with the order. Was going to order the download addon but refuse to spend another $20 after the shipping rip off from the OFF game developers.

Well you can buy the OFF addon (HAT IN THE RING) via download, therefore in this case there's NO shipping fees!

I definitely recommend getting Hat in the Ring as well.

As for the shipping fee: get over it and enjoy your new sim. smile

Well thanks. Sorry you feel that way but I think you will enjoy the depth of the sim and hope you do.

Firstly the shipping is for worldwide shipping - every one from USA to Greece, to Timbuktu wherever is the same. Also the our distruibutor supply digital downloads only normally, however OFF was so huge (because of all the superb extra content - for example 39 user flyable aircraft, around 4000 fully historically researched aircraft textures etc) that digital download at the time was not something they could offer easily - so hence it is the way it is. Still 1000's of people believe it's still good value but you are free not to bother of course. We don't see a penny of that shipping cost by the way either.

Cheers

Oh and thanks Jens ! smile

Pawgy...I said before I spent $59.99 I think it was on OFF alone...and it was worth every penny...I'm not really interested in the planes that come with hitR however I bought it aswell as the other extras are worth it...FLy OFF for awhile and if you enjoy it then buy HitR.

Probably will buy HitR soon. just blowing of steam because most games cost less than $5 to mail. Even the full box.

on Ebay sellers make a little extra mone with heavy shipping and handling costs.

Looking forward to the OFF game but am relying on All good things said in this forum and at Combat Sims.

My Combat Flight Sim 3 Just arrived and it says it is UBISOFT Exclusive. PC DVD rom. SO from what i have read this is the dvd version i guess. I think that means it is already 3.1 and will not require the dvd in drive after install. is that correct? Does tha also mean I do not have to install it ,, Just put it in during the OFF installation so OFF can get the neccessary files?????

Correct smile

The full step-by-step install procedure, including updating OFF etc, is at the start of the FAQ on our website.

(there are many good tips too so worth keeping it bookmarked)

Big companies get bulk mailing rates and very small companies and individuals do not. I remember some wargame years ago charging $20.00 for shipping because it came with a heavy manual. I wanted that game too but there was no way I was paying $20.00 for shipping so never bought it. I did buy OFF though because $9.00 is not too bad but I did whine about it too.
