I have just updated my addons page with a download of SAW for 1.28E- see the link in my signature.
Naturally it is "beta".
The download is a self installer to be run in the EAW (1.28E) folder.

Thanks Jell,

getting it now, will set it up and let you know if there are any problems tomorrow. We will need to make a tmod.dat file from the original tmod table from the old exes, so that the hit bubbles and damage etc fit the SAW models.

cheers,

Pobs

A couple of aircraft selection screens would be nice- the current 1.28c ones resized are used at the moment.

Testing at GameRanger today indicated that there were some needed 1.28E files not present in the SAWTest_Eng.CDF, so I have uploaded a patch and put a link to it on my addons page. I also included the two screens shown earlier.

As usual the patch file is a self-installer to be run in your EAW 1.28E folder.
It will add the additional files to the SAW folder in the SAW128E folder.
The files were not needed for single mission gaming.

Guys,
is there a Dir.Set file with this? I can't find one.
The SAW exe made a folder called dirsets, but the file inside
is named 'SAW' not Dir.Set. I load the file with OAW, but I do
not get SAW.
thanks,
AO

Ahhhh! Okay.......it launches from the DirsetPicker.......but can't get it
to launch from OAW.......where is the music?

Okay.......the music is here:
http://www.sandbagger.uk.com/saw/Music.zip
(Place the 'music' folder in the SAW128e folder.)

AO,

if you want to do it as a free standing install, just rename that 'SAW' file in the dirsets folder to dir.set, and drop it into the main folder. That is all the dirset picker does anyway.

cheers,

Pobs

For scenario launching the DirSet picker has replaced OAW with a simple utility. It works by copying the selected file from the DirSets folder into the root folder and naming it "Dir.set".
I may not have included the music files to save d/l space.

What Pobs and I did not realise is that there is a new sound redirection system in 1.28E, which is simple and excellent.
Flying the CR-32 in the Me 262 slot was producing the jet sound in spite of Pobs' best effors with "sound.ini" files which were used in previous 1.28 versions.
The upshot is that I have replaced the patch on my addons page with a new one and updated the page. It is a small download which installs a SAWFILES folder in the SAW128E folder, and a new "SAW" file in the DirSets folder which points to it instead of the SAW folder.

It is working here- maybe you need to re-load the page as I had to so that the latest version is displayed.

This is the link you should see:

There's a new patch (self installer, run in your 1.28E folder as usual) with the 128 objects per tile EAW_TTD.DAT file in it so that the TMods controlled by this file appear correctly.
The link is in my addons page.
