Judging by the current screenshots, one needs a rather costly rig to run the sim on. I'm well aware that you guys can hardly predict the system requirements of the final version. But perhaps you could give us a glimpse by just mentioning on what rig you have a decent FPS rate using the current build of the software?
I work with an Intel 6600 @2.4Ghz / GTX 460, 4GB RAM Windows 7
On that system I get really smooth frames even over the dense areas with the FLIR up. Video card makes the biggest difference due to the heavy use of shaders. I was getting around 30fps in cockpit over the city with an older 9800GTX and closer to 60-70 with a stock Palit 460 1GB.
Works pretty good on a gaming laptop with an nVidia 9800GT too. Hope that's of some use. A TrippleHead system will push up the fill-rate and slow it down, in that respect it's resolution dependant. Each pixel is processed in a shader therefore more pixels you need to fill the slower the update.
Guess I need to go for some new hardware by the time it gets released!
X2
Although it sounds like the devs are using intel/ Nvidia hardware, if they need an ATI/AMD beta tester, I'll courageously volunteer Perfect excuse to buy a new VC!
