How accurate will the flight model be?

Will sideslip be modelled? And if so will the HUD show the safe limit of sideforce before loss of lateral control?

Fun or realistic?

Sorry for the technical question,I have been reading all about the Harrier in readiness for the release of this sim reading

Over 200 views and no replies?
Guess it must have been a dumb question yep

What prompted the question was from the early Harrier problem of side-slipping at very low speed where the airflow was interrupted over one wing.
Quite a few accidents occurred until the HUD was modified and a rudder pedal 'shaker' was installed to tell the pilot which pedal to use to correct the problem.

Ah well, whatever form the sim comes in I will enjoy it I'm sure.

Thats because only the devs can answer your question, right?
I hope it is something comparable to EDs AFM.

Vienna, 2nd rock left.
Looking at the amount of detail in the checklist, cockpit modelling and such - and I also think it's been said at the official Aerosoft Forum - this sim will be a true to life replication.

Not sure if they can compute the edges of handling like you descripe in your example, but I certainly expect more than for example the Harrier in SF2E.

Yeah I guess so.I noticed that Dante had been on a few times but hadn't made a comment,so I thought about 'bumping' it a little.

Chucky: sorry for the late reply, but our FM is aimed to be realistic. Our pilot advisor (ex-RAAF fighter pilot instructor) commented that it's coming along together in our latest beta build. Although he also pointed out that it's still a bit off regarding roll (hard to select and maintain a bank angle). Other considerations are to have buffet which needs to be heard and felt and cued via AOA, and do another fine tuning pass in G vs IAS in accordance with charts available in the Flight Manual.

With these steps done, we will have a classy Harrier FM.

Sounds great, I've been watching this title closely over the years and very glad to hear it's coming along nicely! Very excited to take the harrier for a ride, not to mention the Argentinian turbo prop (the name of the plane eludes me at the moment) as well.

Keep up the good work guys, I'll be waiting there with some refreshments at the finish line! smile
