Was the flight model tweeked with the new exe? the Commanche is seriously under powered. When you pull back on the cyclic there isn't much of a ballooning effect, just a lost of airspeed and huge sink rate. I'm gonna do some more testing.

testing is always welcome but the flight model has not been touched, except for an option in eech.ini called advanced flight model which you can set to 1 or 0 (on or off). The "advanced" has raised a lot of discussion so simply see it as another flight model.

Yeah... still out on the flight model.. trying to figure out why I can't use FSAA and read the Camp screen.

I hate to be the bearer of ill tidings, but I may have found an issue common to W4 and 5. Using the 151d WUT file, auto-pilot doesn't work on the Apache properly. It immediately slams the collective wide open, destroying the engines.

that has been there for a long time (from before 160 in fact), should be easy to fix but never had a look at it. the 151d wut file gives you a very high cruise velocity... lowering that should help

or you could try out the gwut1613h.csv wut profile. It's a bit extended compared wit hthe 151D (extended means more aggressive enemy and some other stuff, it's a bit harder than 151D )

As I recall, 1613h commits the same sin. Gotcha makes a good point about the cruise speed. I'll adjust that.

I can't imagine doing long missions without A/P. And I try to avoid Comaches because they will probably never be fielded.

BTW, I also found advancedfm too funky for words!

The problem does have something to do with the WUT file, but it's not the cruise speed. It's set to 80 m/s. in 146y and rocks just fine. In 151d, it's 72+. Frustrating.
