Over the hills and far away.
In an hour I leave for Sumatra.
I'll arrive there tomorrow at 3u10pm and my girlfriend will pick me up at Polonia airport!
My divorce is finnished and good times seem to be back! (unless that airbus is gonna lose one of his engines or simply crash biggrin )
Anybody here before in Sumatra? I'm going to Medan, my girlfriend lives there, and we also go to Padang, Bukit Lawang, bukit Tingi, and maybe do some trekking, from Indonesia to Malaysia, Borneo(back indonesia) Thailand, etc...
I'm so excited at the moment, got a real nice girlfriend, that I met before my marriage here in Belgium. Not materialistic at all, beautiful, clever and has a very special attitude, a real one of a kind.
I'm gonna read this forum also when I'm there, she works for the Orangutan Information Centre in Medan, and we got all internetaccess as we want.
Anybody been there in Sumatra or in the neighborhood, please share your experiences in this topic, I would love to read about it!
Also A BIG THANKS again to ALL the people from this forum that helped me back on my feet when I was so very down when my wife left me!!!
You surely remember who you are!!!! ALL OF YOU AGAIN A BIG THANK YOU!!!! Cannot thank you enough!!!!
And it's true, you never know what tomorrow brings! One day the world was ending for me! And now the sun is shining in the sky again!!! smile

My very best regards to ALL of you Guys and girls!!
Kodiak.

I'm glad to hear you are happy and things are going well. As for me, I've never been to the island of Sumatra but I've had the pleasure of drinking coffee from there!

Really glad to hear things have turned around for the better! I can only imagine the adventure that awaits you (never been much of a traveler myself [would have loved to experience more of the world], maybe when/if I retire biggrin ). Go for the gusto man.

Never been to Sumatra proper but East Java, Bali and Sulawesi have left me with an urge to return again, again and again.
I'm sure Sumatra will be just the same. Indonesia is just a fantastic place with some of the nicest peeps I've ever met.

And what a great job your girlfriend has ! Orangutans deserve all the love and much more.

Pics please.

Cheers,
Slug

Wow, the things some people will do to get really, really fresh coffee.

Glad to hear things are looking up, Kodiak. I've been through some bad experiences myself, but I finally found a great woman to put up with me. Good luck and have a great trip!
