Thanks for the timely review. I was at Target this yesterday looking at all three games. After this review, the $19.99 BF:Bad Company 2, does seem the way to go, compaired to $59.99

Very good review.I don`t have the current version of MOH,but I have played and enjoyed previous versions. Now to my beef,I guess to each his own,but having purchased COD4 Black Ops,I have to say this is the worst game I ever purchased.Have to run it at 800x600 just to make it playable, otherwise the single player campaign is plagued with stutters. My system is no slouch, every other game run at 1900x1200,high settings.Others have reported similar issues. And finally multiplayer coop. The zombie mode imho is aimed squarely at the kiddie market, please give us 4 player coop v the AI Bots, not this crap.COD4 BOps seems like a beta release, lots of reported issues.Yes they patched it,but I would not recommend this game to anyone.Save your money.
If you have to buy one,go with MOH.

I said in the review it had the usual bugs most releases come with, some the same problems MoH has/had. As for tech issues no problems here, 60 plus fps with everything maxed, same as MoH.

What co-op does MoH have? none, so as much as I agree about the zombie mode at least it was better then that leader board, tier 1 crap MoH provided. IMO

Thx for the feedback.

You can coop against bots in Combat Training in BO, I did that with a friend to learn the maps. The bots are really well done too, the only game I think has better bots is UT. Combat Training is also awesome to figure out how to spend your Cash when you move on to the real thing.

I think BO is the best MP in the CoD series since the original Modern Warfare, I'm surprised Treyarch did as well as they have because my expectations were pretty low coming in. BlOps gets the Platinum Jeevz Seal of Approval.

I'm with Magnum in that Bad Company 2 represents the best MP action shooter out there. There is no way I could go back to a shooter that won't let me punch a hole in the wall. With the Vietnam expansion pack coming and coop available in the 360 version with Onslaught mode, it is the way to go.

Thanks for saving me some money, Mag. I've determined I don't want either one of them. I might Gamefly the 360 versions, but for nothing more than grins and giggles.

Thanks for the review. I have been holding off on both waiting for this. I don't want to buy both games and now I am definitely leaning towards COD. Now I am just hoping Steam puts it at 50% off on Thursday/Friday this week.

I bought both games, but have only finished MOH single player campaign so far. But I have played MP on both. I found COD to be the same type of game play that most of the past versions have been. Fast paced run an gun fighting with no real front lines. MOH on the other hand feels much more realistic. Less run and gun, and there are actually front lines sometimes. Rarely do you spawn only to have an enemy come around the corner from behind you like in COD. So MOH is much more tactical then COD. So if you want a fast paced shooter that your familiar with in the other COD games go with BO. But if your looking for something that feels a bit more real go with MOH. As far as the map sizes are, my first impressions were that MOH had bigger maps, and you seem to be able to have gun fights from much father away. You can't play the game the same way you play COD. You need to think out your moves a little more.

True... MoH is the better team play game over BO... but with the snipers running rampant and having almost full view of the whole battlefield, those were game killers for me. Like I said in a post I enjoyed MoH with a good team better then CoD... but the number of options, perks, and maps in CoD make it the better bargain, again... IMO... and thx for the feedback.

Excellent review. I have MOH and have been enjoying the multi-player action. I have put off buying the latest COD because I was not satisfied with the multi-player in the last version. Thanks for changing my mind.

I do like the way that CODBO does weapons handling with bulkier guns slower to bring to bear. You are right about snipers taking most of the fun out of MOH MP maps. My solution (and I'll keep repeating it until someone implements it...lol) - two or three minute respawn time for snipers and the aimpoint moves around like a drunken sailor if they have even 1% damage...oh, and no running with a sniper rifle..none, zip. That would cure a lot of what ails MOH and Bad Company II in my opinion.

Tx, great review.

Still on BFBC2 multiplayer here too, lots of fun, still too many bunny hoppers, even on the hardcore servers. Still some fun to be had, though.

Don't have either, but hoping for the MOH package at Christmas.

*************************************

On a side note, I actually liked the 'patriotic' feel of the previous MOH titles. My absolute FAV was the Pacific Theater WW2 title, not for the singleplayer, but the director's edition with all the WW2 live interviews--that was incredible. Still have that one, tho not installed.

Per amazon's description "...includes WWII Timeline Presentation, interviews with real WWII veterans of the Pacific Theater, a showcase of the famous USMC Silent Drill Platoon, behind-the-scenes development footage and a mini-documentary about WWII propaganda, The Thought War."

Nice review Magnum. I buy FPS's mostly for the single player experience and despite being shorter I found MOH's single player much more realistic and satisfying than BO, in fact it was probably my favourite war based single player, second only to World at War. BO was also good but the disjointed missions didn't quite grab me in the same way. Great to see the zombies back though smile

The price is too high to consider buying either title for SP alone so in that respect BO is better value for money but once the price drops MOH will be a solid purchase. As an Christmas gift you won't be disappointed with either smile
