Has anyone else here seen the movie "Harry Brown" with Michael Caine? It's been out for some time now, but I only got around to seeing it yesterday. Michael Caine is excellent as ever!

The movie itself is very good. Caine, as ex-Royal Marine Harry Brown, lives on a council estate with some serious drug/violence problems. There are some seriously obnoxious chavs in control of the neighbourhood, and there's little the police can do. When his friend is murdered, Harry Brown takes matters into his own hands.

Great movie, highly recommended for any Michael Caine fans.

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

My 72 yrs old English neighbour and I have talked about this movie over some beers last weekend.
I watched this film about a month ago simply cause Caine was in it understanding it's a UK version of Gran Torino.
My neighbour said the movie graphically shows one of the biggest reasons why he does not want to return to his homeland for the remainder of his life.

Yeah, it obviously is not a problem with some specific countries in Europe or big cities in US alone.

Great acting. My indirect catharsis of watching Michael Caine kicking the butts somehow ended incomplete when the Emily Mortimer's role did not end up dead.

Watched it a couple of months ago and liked it very much.

But then I'm a big fan of anything Michael Caine.

Good movie. Perhaps some of Caine's best acting really...

Last year I knew three Brits working with me. One was former assistance case manager who had to go into places like in the movie, the second was a former copper in London, and the third seemed to be one of those "chav" types...and I got the impression that some areas of the UK are much like the movie. Not ALL the country, but bits of it.

Rick: This sort of neighbourhood is the same in the UK, US, Canada or anywhere else......certainly not representative of any of these countries or their cities....go to London, Birmingham, Chicago, New York, Toronto or Vancouver and you will find the best and "the worst" in each

A good movie though

It's true, inner city Britain is overrun with gun-toting vigilante pensioners.

Movie looks good, might watch.
