Ok, seriously, I am trying to program the controller. I want to play with SF2V, its simple, with only a very limited range of options. My previous experience was with the SST programming software from Saitek. Now how the HELL do I do stuff? I want to program basic functions, I.E. spacebar, enter, etc so I can fire missiles, yada yada. I've read through the manual, do I really have to write a bleeding script to put down the spacebar button? How do I create a "COMMAND" so It can be inserted and utilized?

I'm guessing you mean Strike Fighters 2? If so, This Command File <-- (Right Click Save As): Well that would depend on where you put Control Manager and where your Maps Folder is on your system The link is to a Command File you can use to program your controllers with, in Control Manager. Pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Or, you could even refer to This Thread Or as Sokol1 pointed to The Dummies Guide That will point you in a basic direction...

The Dummies Guide is great guys, but the CH kit -- I just got Pro Pedals, the Pro Throttle and Fighterstick -- is,uh,daunting. I've got an obvious question: For Black Shark and FC2, should I program the commands in CH Control Manager or in the sim itself? When I was using my old Saitek X-45 HOTAS, I remember that I needed to clear out all pre-programmed button assignments from the panels inside the sim options panels, and I programmed only the HOTAS software.

For Black Shark and FC2, should I program the commands in CH Control Manager or in the sim itself? It depends on how you want to use your HOTAS. If you just want each button to do one thing, then generally programming things in the sim will work fine. As soon as you want to do one fancy thing (for example, have a button do one thing when pressed briefly or another thing when held), or if you want to use shifted commands and/or 3 modes on the HOTAS, you should program everything in Control Manager.

Thanks Joe, and if I do the latter, should I clear all the preset commands in the sim? No! Those commands are what is transmitted when you press a button programmed through Control Manager.
