Let me look at my info, I had the exact issue while testing. Should be a simple fix.

Uninstall the TARGET software, and check that the Thustmaster folder in your directory is deleted. Download a new copy of TARGET HERE. Ensure that your Anti-Virus is disabled, run the exe with administrator rights.

Ensure that your Anti-Virus is disabled, run the exe with administrator rights. I did that the second time around. No joy.

Well I had problems with the separate install of DotNeTFX40_Full_x86_x64.exe but the RC of TARGET has it bundled together in the installer. It was causing crashes on two x64 bit windows 7.
Viper Question: What controllers do you have plugged in? Try starting TARGET with the controllers unplugged. I would even recommend ensuring USB devices are disconnected, uninstalling, delete directory, reboot, disable AV, install, reboot, attempt launch with controllers unplugged.
It really sounds like a dotnet problem. Check your installed programs and see if you have a Net user and Net client, should be listed by Microsoft. Sorry, I'm on a laptop and don't have the exact names of the programs. I'll check later and will post their exact title.

Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile and Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended were the two program names. I saw you tried the latest .NET per your post at ED. I don't know what else it could be. Strange how it works on one x64 Win7 but not another.

the problems has been identified as a windows localisation issue.. try this if you want to play a little...
Go to regional settings and set the language to English-US. (For Win7, in control panel->region and language, set the location to United States and the keyboard default input language to English-US, in the Keyboard and languages tab->Change Keyboard... ). Then make sure that when you start the program, in the language bar EN is selected.
Looks like the problem is caused by the language bar...
and don't forget that you can import ttm file macro even in the GUI (the macro files are here C:\Program Files (x86)\Thrustmaster\TARGET\scripts).
Please post the result.

the GUI also create script (tmc) files and can import macro files. This way you can quickly build a script file without any knowledge of script.

When you're in the main portion of the GUI where you can make mappings, there's a button at the bottom that says 'VIEW SCRIPT'. Click that and you get the .TMC in an editor window. file-saveas, bam, done. Though I haven't yet seen how to import one.

When you're in the main portion of the GUI where you can make mappings, there's a button at the bottom that says 'VIEW SCRIPT'. Thanks. After reading the manual I discovered the path to the saved scipts is \appdata\roaming\thrustmaster\ The more I use Target the more I dislike it. Foxy is so much more efficient to work with compared to the GUI editor and the script editor. IMO Target is a big step back regarding usage. My biggest gripe is that there is no efficient way to apply macros to buttons. Foxy has a list in alphabetical order based on macro-name, Target GUI Ed is just listing the macros chronologically after the required commented names (Foxy dont need commented names). In Foxy we can double-click a macro from the list and it will be autoinserted in the script. In Target we need to open the macro-file, highlight and copy the macro-name, go back to the script and paste. Please tell me Nutty is working his magic on something.

The script editor have a feature which may help the script writer. You may select Options/Editor/Autocomplete Enabled. When this check is enabled, when you write something in the editor, a list will open with all available keywords and will position on the nearest word which begins with the letters you typed (it is case sensitive). You can simply press ENTER when you find the desired word in this list, and the word will be inserted in the script. The list will fill with all macros included by your script, after a first compilation.

I know a couple of Cougar owners that have been discuraged by the Cougar software. The same guys depend on me for updates to their cougar files. The Target GUI/Command Center seems to be made for people new to high programable stick. The Target Script Editor will unfortunate never be as Foxy. But personally I am glad we (Warthog owners) got direct access to the script software/language. This have not prevented me from writing an email to Nutty and informing him that I am a sure costumer if he decides to convert Foxy for the Target script language. I belive that the more people that send him a mail about this, the higher the chance he will get an incentive to do it. BTW, his mail can be found at Nutty's webpage. I don't dare write an email adress in a public forum due to spam robots.
