OK, what music CDs or albums can you think of that are "perfect"? By that I mean, they don't contain any bad songs. I hate buying a CD because I like a song and finding out that it's the only good cut on the whole CD.

And obviously "Greatest Hits" albums or other compilations are not eligible!

Ones that come to mind for me would be:

The first four Led Zeppelin albums.
Willie Nelson's "Redheaded Stranger" album.
Alan Jacksons' "A Lot About Livin'" album.
Meat Loaf's "Bat Out of Hell" album.

How 'bout you?

Cheers!

Agree on the Zeppelin stuff.

Lots of Rush albums (big fan), 2112, Hemispheres, Moving Pictures, Snakes and Arrows.

Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, The Wall

Deep Purple - Machine Head

Tom Petty - Damn the Torpedoes

Yes - Tales, Yessongs

Boston - Boston

Jethro Tull - Aqualung

Who - Who's Next

That's all I can come up with right now. Probably will come up with more as soon as post.

Can ya tell I like prog rock? biggrin Haven't bought an "album", other than Rush's stuff, in probably 25 years. just buy single songs I like.

Led Zep, Physical Graffitti. To me at least it had the best display of John Bonham's awsome drumming ability.

I always thought these albums were pretty good start to finish:

Welcome to the Real World - Mr. Mister
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John
Mirage - Fleetwood Mac
Kind of Blue - Miles Davis
Wave - Antonio Carlos Jobim
Time Out - Dave Brubeck

EDIT:
I should probably add "Brothers in Arms - Dire Straits" too.

There's a good one. Thanks for the suggestion Mark, I just dug old Zig out of the collection, it's spinning now. thumbsup

Marillion "Misplaced Childhood"

It's a story in music form, and skip a song, it's just wrong.

Great question Rick. I would elaborate further on the definition of a "perfect" album to say it's any album that I have listened to many times and will listen to many more times in the future and will never get tired of it.

Tommy - The Who
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
The Wall - Pink Floyd
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Revolver - The Beatles
A Hard Day's Night - The Beatles
Sgt. Pepper - The Beatles
The White Album - The Beatles
Abbey Road - The Beatles
Rubber Soul - The Beatles
Invisible Touch - Genesis
Abacab - Genesis
Genesis - Genesis
Band on the Run - Wings
The Stranger - Billy Joel
Led Zeppelin IV - Led Zeppelin
Back in Black - AC/DC

From start to finish eh? What I love to listen to without skipping any songs...

AC/DC "Back in Black"
Def Leppard "Pyromania"
Metallica "Black Album"
Boston "Boston"
Scorpions "World Wide Live" (could be considered a greatest hits album though)
Candlebox "Candlebox"
Foo Fighters "The Colour and the Shape"
Stone Temple Pilots "Core"
Soundgarden "Superunknown"
Firefall "Firefall" Anyone remember these guys? 1976 smile
Zac Brown Band "The Foundation"
