I'm about 100 pages from finishing the Night's Dawn series and want to read something that's not science fiction next.

I have read some very flattering reviews of Vince Flynns work and am considering "Transfer of Power". Since this deals with real world tactical matters, I'm curious how this material was received by those here.

I have liked all the Vince Flynn books I've read.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

I've enjoyed the ones I've read sofar (first five or so? I always forget which ones I'm on when I see them in the store). His political leanings and 'agenda' does show very clearly, and there are some people who can't handle that. Personally it's just who his character portraits and I cope with it.

Love Vince Flynn! Good thrillers, but maybe not for those into "multiculturalism". Or closing Gitmo, or giving terrorists Constitutional rights, etc.

It's just something about his theme about political accountability (and how he enacts it) that rings true in people, I think. smile

Vince Flynn is a great author, and if you like him, you will probably also enjoy Brad Thor.

All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE the corps!

Well, I'm a quarter through it so far and am very much enjoying it. Pacing is spot on, and action is well conceived and plausible so far.

Gally, and BT recommendations in particular?

Most recent one was great, as it's a prequel and delves into training.
