This thread is a little early but I'm going to be tied up for the next day and a half and probably won't get a chance to make it before tomorrow night.

I've got one new mission in the pipe - it pays homage to an old ArmA1 mission, where specops must destroy Shilkas guarding an airfield in advance of an aistrike.

I may be late as it's Canadian Thanksgiving, so hopefully adlabs or Magnum will step up to the plate for admin duties.

See you then!

How Monday will play out for me, I can't say yet.

Hope to be here. And have a Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

Good games tonight, well done... sorry left early, got to get up at 5 for a all day school.

I was in the LAV, and thought I could run over that police barricade, but instead i did a evil Knievel jump and flipped on my back... still after all this time. lol

lol! yeah, that mission was fubar for me (sorry Adlabs!!). I was getting crap FPS which was making it hard to keep situational awareness, and the grass/lighting made it damn near impossible to see bad guys. Just as I was starting to move what was left of Alpha up the hill from the barn to the second obj., an enemy popped me (and I think the other guy in Alpha) from like 20 yards, hiding in the grass the whole time we were there Cuss
Ah well, it's just a game right biggrin Still fun!

Sorry about my lame performance tonight, but my controller (Command Unit) is acting stupid. What pisses me off is that it only acts funny w/ ArmA II. Now I have to figure out why, and after a complete system upgrade, including OS, it's gonna be tedious. It's partly my fault anyway, 'cuz ever since I started using PC game controllers I'm now completely dependent on 'em...

Anyway, I'll try to get it sorted before next Monday.

It still amazes me how trees and dense foliage really brings down my frame rate in Arma 2. The game runs smooth as glass in Takistan but on the original islands with the dense forests my frame rate is cut in half.

Question for anyone who was disconnected last night when we tried to play that new mission.... can you update or confirm you have already updated your Duala content (included the new armies) to the version listed in the multiplayer thread?

If you update, please try to run the mission (Isla Duala -> KSK 8-12 River Rats) and let me know if you still get booted.

Hi Fatty,

So I realized what my problem was. I didn't realize that there were three sets of maps (Isla Duala, Sbrodj, and Quesh-Kibrul). I only had Isla Duala, and I'm guessing that's the only map we used last week which is why I didn't have any problems.

Downloaded all three and I should have all my kinks ironed out. I also have clearance from my g/f so monday night is as my 'pretend to play soldier' night wink

I was able to play one mission as Xrox's grenadier and had a blast. It was really cool hearing over the comms the direction and range, which let me fire off 4 grenades with good accuracy (bagged one, and saw the rest diving for cover). I also got to clear out a building that had a baddie in it.

Thanks again guys! Looking forward to next week.

Fatty, I hadn't updated the SimHQ stuff since the beginning of July and I had no issues getting in last night while that mission was loaded. Other than the Low Grass mod, I don't really have much else running when I play on SimHQ other than a couple of unit addons.

Looks like I'm at fault too. I had the latest ver. of Isla Duala DL'd; but I guess I forgot to install it and thought it was updated to the latest since I found the DL on my HDD and ASSuMEd it was installed duh

Works fine now!
