Some of you may not even know who John Lennon was. Some may not know who The Beatles were. Sigh, times change.
Anyway, John was a member of the Beatles, and he and Paul sang most of the songs that are imprinted in the archives of great music history. John was a funny guy, I thought. I just figgered he had a sense of humor about him much like mine. Irreverent, reply to questions with a smirk, give a wink as if to say "I know you get this, right? Right!".
It really hit me hard the day he was murdered. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing. Strange how tragedies have that effect.
Anyway, today would have been John's 70th birthday. Oh, how I wish he were here.
And I'll start with this piece, "Woman".

Cheers!

Nicely done video and song. Reminds me a little of the Forrest Gump opening and closing scenes.

Since no one has yet posted it, probably his most remembered single, "Imagine".

My mom feels even older than I right now, ha ! I still remember how she sat on her chair in the kitchen for 2 min upon hearing the news on the radio that John was singing no more.
btw, Chapman has just been denied his 6th and last parole application. Does that mean he is staying in for good?
Cheers, Slug

I've always admired the Beatles and especially John Lennon.
It's sad to realize that only two of the Beatles are still alive.

I don't know how many people would really miss Napoleon for all what he's worth. Lennon lived in the 20th Century and his peers are very much alive today...that including McCartney. Many people just wish his musical gift didn't have to end 'prematurely.'
