yes I'm very impressed with this version. and I got it to work on my nvidia system.
Can't wait for the DX7 update promised from NVIDIA.
I believe this will help with the CT D's I'm getting.
Since NVIDIA isn't supporting this version atm, I would like to turn off the T&L HAL effects this will help out the NVIDIA cards.

You should download the last NVidia beta driver for Win7-64.

Then you rename FreeFalcon's exe to FalconAF.exe

I use Win7-64 with NVidia (8500GT) and FreeFalcon works flowless.

Is it less buggy and crash prone than the new FF5 I've been running the last few months?

YES!

It's stable, we fly MP every day with up to 7-8 people usually. There is just a process you need to follow to ensure smooth MP flights.

Drop by and fly with us.

lol...sorry but no thanks. I'll stick with my plug and play F4AF that ensure smooth MP flights without the need of spending countless hours going over everyones setups.

Could you elaborate on what in the multiplayer was improved? Or was it not touched at all? I've already given FF5 a try before, even using the old SOPs that were required to try and get a decent flight in, and it was nearly unplayable in MP. Even worse than the old 108i2 peer to peer code.

just try it man we fly without issues maybe you're a tard for all we know. Don't bag on FF5 it's fine for most of us, nvidia guys usually have the worst issues.

Ease up on the insults fella. We're only asking if the multiplayer code has been worked on or improved. You've evaded the question enough that let us know the answer. Relax and enjoy what you're playing. Some of us have been around awhile and do not enjoy the current state of FF5's multiplayer, with having to use connection SOPs that were designed by most of 'us' from 2000 to 2005 until F4AF corrected these problems, that's why we were asking if it was any better.

Exactly !

KV describes EXACTLY how I feel.
While I beta tested Falcon for Many Years, I do NOT choose to do so for FF as it was not appreciated one little bit when I did point out problems with it.... I was Branded a "Hater".

So now I fly a Stable Falcon when I have the rare chance to Fly, and evade the Insults.
Life is Simpler and I enjoy it.

Be Well...............

As for FF, you guys are really missing out. Maybe if you try again, with other people, new version, you might have better results.

My invite is open!

Cheers

Blud.......

Its not about "Trying" FF, Most of us have,,, many times.
KV asked a legit question that cuts straight to the point :
Were there any changes in the M-Play code that would give us some hope that it would be better than previous releases ?

If no modifications were made, than there is no change.
While I applaud your efforts to get more pilots flying, When it comes to M-Play most of us have "Been There, Done That." with FF.
I had Many occasions to Fly Falcon On-Line thru-out many patches/iterations during Falcons History... From Stock, to 108i, to eFalcon, the Realism Patch, Super-Pak, Viper-Ops, FF, ect...
IMHO Viper-Ops, and Allied Forces gave the Best On-Line experiences.

I hope FF can some day wrangle the M-Play issue, We just wonder if efforts have been made in the latest release.
Keep the Faith Bro.......And Be Well !

No.

But I've been flying since 2007 and only have minor issues. There is a process, or sequence of events that need to occur to promote the most stability. Order of loading into 2D world, then into the pit has a proper sequence. This is even more important when you have several pilots and using the same configuration file can only help stabilize things even further. Having the right time allocated in the flight plan is essential as anything more than 5 minutes usually messes with sync and other stuff no conducive to happy flight. It's more experience and taking the time to learn the different nuances of the Sim.

Many times it system related and not FF related, but FF gets the bad press and it bums me out because I love it so much. I'd really love to try this with you guys and see if we could make it work. Our little crew does it nightly if we can, up to 7 people and we get through it. I know More patients are required and the additional steps get monotonous for some, but once in flight everything settles and it's all worth while for most. But if it's all you know, then it doesn't really matter wink

I know RAM @ FF is working hard to try to get MP the love it needs, but it really isn't that bad for most of us. There is however no work to speak of with MP and nothing has been done to increase it's stability. I think all the other fixes have just made it better by default as the sim progresses with it's patches. We're on 5.52 and .53 is on the way.

I'd like to get flight with you guys, let me know if you're able.

Regards.
