Once you get UltraPack installed and running right, you may need additional downloadable aircraft for certain campaigns. To add new aircraft:

Unpack the SAS MODS folder and place the MODS folder in your main IL 2 1946 Directory. Mine is at C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946

Unpack the SAS Buttons file and place the buttons file in your MODS folder at Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\STD\gui\game

Now download the new Aircraft Mod you want, unpack it and READ the readme file. Normally all you have to do is place the named aircraft folder into your MODS directory, mine's C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS

THEN, according to the readme, you will to add a line/lines to you air.ini file. Mine is in my MODS folder at C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects

I have like 6 or 7 modded a/c working great, no issues using this method.
