Codemasters’ SVP of production Jame MacDonald has told Develop that new iterations of Race Driver: Grid and Operation Flashpoint are in development.

In Southam it’s full steam ahead with the next iteration in our Flashpoint series, as well as the next Dirt and Grid. It’ll be interesting to see how it all pans out.

And see, I preferred it to ArmA2...different strokes, I suppose.

It was/is a great infantry game... but you can really prefer the vehicles over ArmA2's can you... sliding hummers, tanks that do multi-rolls down a hill, etc etc...

The beef i had/have with the first OFP DR isn't really the gameplay, just the designers decisions... like not truly a open sandbox game, being tied to your friends for co-op, and the limited and confusing multiplayer... if they want to be like the original OFP (or ArmA2 for that matter) than my god copy them... they tried to hard NOT to be like the original, and that backfired on them. IMO... we will see if they learned a lesson from OFP DR or stay stubborn to a foruma that just don't work.

That said, I still own and play the 360 version and PC version... fantastic infantry combat.

Oh, no. Don't get me wrong, the vehicular control was one of the worst things I've ever seen in a game.

Excellent! Now, when will it come out? I assume they started working on it a while ago?

I hope it will be better than the last... was one of the most disappointing games I have played recently.

Did they ever fix the ammo selection? I've only played the demo and I found switching between rifle and grenade launcher ammo was a real pain in the posterior.

I just tried that, it only let me choose between weapon types and not ammo types.

I wanted to like it but I found that the enemy AI seemed to soak up bullets without too much harm and it became frustrating.
In ARMA 2 the AI found being shot to be most disagreeable and assumed the laying down position rapidly.
How would modern body armour hold up in close ranges like some of the village assaults in OFPDR?

That Farrow bloke you executed today, are you sure he's dead?
Well I chopped his head off, that usually does the trick.
Yes, don't get clever with me Baldrick. I just thought you might have lopped off a leg or something by mistake.
No, the thing I chopped off had a nose.

Same as OFDR, they quickly take cover under fire (like at :40). They die just fine too. LOL
I'm getting the urge to crank this thing up again for some co-op.

Thanks mate, there was a little bug that made it not work. The ' key was set (it said " ' " in the settings) but it didn't work so I manually set it to " ' " (which changed it to "APOSTRO" or something similar in the settings) and now it works. I'll have to give it another whirl and see if it's worth picking up in the bargain bin.

I could never get the game to work online. It refused to even make me a account. Then I got hit with that bug in the last patch that overheated your video card. POS game. And to think I got caught up in the hype. Just take me out back and put a bullet in me!!!

What bug that overheated your video card? Never saw that one. Not saying it didn't happen, but I never had that problem.

Now, Battlefield Bad Company 2's MP crashed on my PC more frequently than a drunk behind the wheel.

Wild. Have to try that out now and see if it does something.

SP & co-op only? I can live with that as long as it means a lot more SP and co-op content instead of just lopping off 1/3 of the game. Just make it all campaign and not just little single missions that mean nothing.

As for not having someone play the enemy shooting at soldiers, they could've just had all players play British/US soldiers and altered the skins for the opponents like in Americas Army. Everyone's a good guy fighting bad guys that way. The perfect fix.

I found it very interesting that they were going with just coop and SP. I can understand their sensitivity and I can appreciate it. I thought that was very respectful when they told of the young woman who worked for them who lost a relative to the war and that they can't see their way clear into going that route. I know they could pull an America's Army, but the fact that they don't want to even go down that road is very indicative of what kind of people they are.

Maybe that makes me a bit of a weenie, but Codies just went up a notch in my opinion of them.

Will definitely be getting this one.
