I am going through the A-10 training missions and have a couple of questions.

First, the "1" key is for the navigation mode. It seems to be a toggle key and the Hud has two different screens depending on the toggle. I could find nothing in the book on this. What is the difference in the HUDs? I am not sure but I think the waypoint changes when you toggle the 1 key.

I have had trouble with the way points in the training files as sometimes they seem to point to the wrong directions. Is this me or the file?

In the gunnery range mission, I received an emergency message directing me to a bearing of 355 and a distance of 50 to a place that started with a P. I couldn't find the P location on the theater map and the bearing would seem to send me out to sea. Also, I wasn't sure if the 50 was miles or KM. I assume that the bearing of 355 was based on my then current direction (which could have been wrong).

All in all, I like the program, I just don't like the manual.

#1 key is for cycling the nav mode and ils,
left-cntrl tilde key or the key next to the 1 is for cycling nave point in nav mode and cycling ils air fields.

you can tell how close you are to a field by looking at the asi and left top corner and it gives miles from the air field.

As far as I can tell, the two nav modes are separate in terms of purpose. The first mode, as it were, is used to give you guidance in regards to navigation; you use this mode to get from steerpoint to steerpoint. The other mode is used for landing purposes as it displays the ils to help guide you to the ground whilst landing.
