Will SOW meet the release of the BOB anniversary date in 2 months time or was Oleg far to optimistic again? IMHO i think that SOW looks a long way off completion but until we hear something official I'm clinging on to a September release.

To quote: hopefully by the BoB-anniversary (or something like that) there will be thousands playing SoW. But not before. After is not financially viable.

He said something along these lines. Personally I don't want it this year. At the state it seems to be, I'd rather more work be put in to getting the game to the best it can be.

"Our name is Hornet Squadron, no bloody good are we.
We cannot shoot, we can not fight, nor march like infantry.
But when it comes to pay parade, we shout with all our might:
Per Ardua ad Astra, Up yours Jack we're alright!"

not a chance...but i think a small chance of playing SOW at Christmas.

if you think of what we have seen...

fantastic looking planes.
the best looking cockpits ever.
average landscape but very WIP(to me)
very WIP effects...smoke, flame, tracers(but dont seem very 2010 to me )
very nice ground objects.
average clouds(WIP).
fantastic lighting and shadows.

to what we havent seen...

sqd take off and landings from a working airfield.
aircraft sound.
finished landscape seen in full detail and with high res, AA, AF.
rivers.
bad weather, overcast sky, night time.
how radar will work.
working GUI.
SOW website.
system specs.
any aircraft crashes showing physics model.
sound of coms between pilots or ground control.
anything showing how the single player will work.
anything showing how MP will work.
finished coastlines.
anything being bombed...or bomb damaged buildings...craters.
bombsights...and how level bombing in formation will work.
anything showing how being injured will be shown and how it will affect pilots.
ground straffing.
anything showing how the good the AI is.

and im sure there are many others...but it shows we still have a long way to go i think...unless Oleg is holding all this stuff back wink

after thinking about the list...i would guess Q1 of 2011 for a release at the soonest.

Well Obviously Oleg is the only one who can answer these questions, but he does tend to talk in riddles where release dates are concerned, 'I hope and I need' is the normal get out.

Things for him would be easier if he wouldn't been asked all the time about release date.

Well, at least I try wink

I think it isn't the developer's job to tell a release date but the publisher's.

Good point. If he is still negotiating with publishers, it may not be in his best interests to give anything away, and if he already has a contract, he may not be allowed to.

"Maddox Games" is such a joke dev. company,no wonder Ubisoft send them to hell, couple yers ago,and no other major publisher wants to make bussines with them.
I will not bet even two cents, that they release the game this year,or next,or the year after that.Instead we will see the same old bull...t,about how "the game is 90% done,we just polishing this and that" etc. etc.Till they sell the "engine" to the third party devs, and will end this comedy.

A lot of u really do have the attention span of a 5 year old.

Dont know how many times iv posted this now, dont make me do it again, please.

Q: Is the game still on the tables for a release this year?

A: "I hope we would not die doing it.... we should finish.
I personally working over the next sim theater.... doing the doc what should be there that to make it interesting for all...
And two variants of theaters... depending of possible calculated in future income.... I hope you understand me right."

Question asked and awnsered Juli 18 and as far as i know nothing new has been said about it so lets pretend, for now, this is what is planed, mmmkay.

And I'll donate a paltry two cents to you so you can buy the game. We all know you will.

I asked that question, and whilst all this discussion is pointless, I still think his answer can mean anything.

Well we know the developers are still working on it, posting pics, and hoping to have it done by the end of the year. I'm sure they wish they could snap their finger and voilà you have a finished product, but the world doesn't work that way. Its unfortunate that we can't seem to figure that out, but its does make for some entertaining, sometimes annoying forum content.

I don't care when it comes out, it's not like I've got nothing else to do while waiting... I'll buy it when it's released and that's all there is to it.
