Haven't played for about a year so I don't know what all has changed, but I know I have it mapped correctly but I can't adjust mixture...it just does it by itself (evident the "ai" is doing it when I'm starting because I can see the mixture lever move). So, I'm assuming there is a difficulty setting somewhere so I can enable "full real" so to speak but I can't find it!

Oilburner, it sounds like you are on 'rookie' difficulty settings. To change this, choose a mission (IE 'quick mission or mission') then to the right of 'start mission' you will see a box named 'settings' with a symbol that looks like two crossed spanners. To guarantee that all engine settings are operable choose 'Ace' setting. You can then customise it to how you want by ticking/un ticking the boxes. (engine warmed up is on, you can disable this for more realism if you want.)

Easy enough. Smile2

Missing a tiny checkbox is no big deal, it happens.

For contrast, I just responded to a fellow on the Aerosoft forums who's had ROF for 6 months and hasn't gotten it running yet, Seems when he fires it up, it gets to this 'update' thingie (launcher!) and yet it doesn't DO anything even when he lets it sit for half an hour at a time...

I suggested he actually hit the update button, update the sim if needed then hit the 'Start Game' button to get to the settings part of the launcher, then the 'Start' button.

I answered straightforwardly, but I wanted to slap him....6 months gone by without even trying any of the launcher buttons??

Maybe I've gotten all mean and cruel in my decrepitude, but jeeeez. Not using the update or start buttons for six months and assuming that the program will do everything by itself? I have yet to have anything melt down or explode when trying unfamiliar buttons in any program...gotta PLAY with the consarned thing for goodness' sake duh

Love. You can know all the math in the 'Verse, but take a boat in the air you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughtta fall down, tells ya she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Good advice Biggs. I'd add Kenny G to that list. And Michael Bolton. Well there's lots actually. runningdog
