Howdy All,

Maiden this baby a few days back. Not the greatest looking rc bird out there but a breeze to fly and very relaxing.
It's a Piper J-3 Cub from Thunder Tiger powered with a 75 4-stroke engine at the front.

Plenty of power and the thing took off in just a couple of meters... At a little over 2m wingspan it's a fairly large bird. It doesn't really like crosswinds, especially on a slow final, but I guess nobody appreciates that anyway.
Overall, it flies very scale-like. The only trouble I have with it are the wings built in a one-piece construction, real bugger at 2m...

Soz for the rather poor quality photograph, had to beg someone at the field to take a snapshot, forgot my camera.

Will try to get a few more shots coming weekend, weather allowing !

Cheers,
Slug

S.C. the real one doesn't like crosswinds , on final, either. I've got Cub time, and it's like flying a powered kite!
Looks like a pretty nice model, to me. One of these days I'm going to get back into that hobby.

Nice Cub, i would like to get one for my dad.
I guess it has a nice sound aswell with that 4 stroke engine.

Im getting back into the hobby this summer after taking an almost 10 year break.

Oh gosh. Gotta love a Cub! I got an electric Cub for my first R/C. Now I'm stepping up to bigger gas powered aircraft. I still love my Cub though.

the old cub is always a favorite, nice job mate, ya out to try it on some floats if you have
some suitable water nearby, nothing like greasing a landing on the lake!

congrats mate

The problem with the World is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
