I downloaded it but it doesnt have an exe. file to auto install and Windows XP says it needs some software to even open the file. I tried reading instructions on how to install it but they are so poorly written i couldnt make heads or tails of it.

You sure you aren't missing a file? The last time I downloaded GWX it was in an archive split into 5 or 6 files and an exe. The whole thing ran as an auto installer.

Haggart, I had the same thing go on when I tried to install the ROF demo, or maybe it was the full purchased game, I don't even remember anymore. I finally just gave up.

Doesn't this mod require JSGME?

It's a "Generic Mod Enabler" for SH. I believe you drop at least some of that stuff into a mods folder and run the JSGME which will list all available mods for SH. Then you select it, activate it, and it should work.

Sorry if you know this already, but it sounds like you are looking for a self installer, which IIRC, isn't how the mod works.

Check the readme or the release thread on Subsim.com...I might be wrong!

It doesn't require anything other than a patched version of SH3. You patch SH3 to 1.4b. Then download the 8 parts( 1 .exe file, and the seven .bin files) to a folder on your computer. Then all you do is run the .exe file, and follow the instructions on screen.
Not sure if it runs with direct download versions, but that's how you do it for the boxed version.

it runs with the download versions too. use jsgme only AFTER you've installed GWX 3.0
