Hi,

I have just bought a Thrustmaster T-flight HOTAS X stick but I can't find any programming/mapping software for it as there is no official software. Does anyone know what mapping software I can use? How can I asign a shift/alternative action button? Would the cougar mapping software work on it?

I used to have the Thrustmaster Afterburner 2 stick (HOTAS) which is essentially the same joystick and loved it. It used the Thrustmapper 4.02 mapping software. The HOTAS X, I though was just an updated version with a few more buttons thrown in...but it also has a microchip and no mapping software! It won't get picked up by Thrustmapper 4.02 (I tried).

So I can't have profiles for different games, double the buttons using a shift button, mapp keyboard presses, set minimum and maximum limits on an axis, set non-linear axis settings, dead zones etc.

Please help...I thought this would be a great joystick and an updated Afterburner 2...but it is so useless without mapping software...

I don't have one, but can't you use the microchip to program it with? Have you read the manual?

There's also Joy To Key:

or Xpadder:

Thanks, I'll check those out.

This is my first joystick with a chip eeprom(?) in it. It seems a waste of time.

The manual has 2 pages on "advanced mapping". Basically all it does is let you reassign buttons and axes to other buttons and axes on the fly, nothing else. The manual is here, with all of about 4 tiny pages relevant to PC.
