If you like the tv show "Firefly" then I highly recommend you watch it since it ties up the loose ends in the storylines quite nicely. If you are unfamiliar with Firefly then I'd say you should still watch it but you may or may not care for it. A 2 hour movie just isn't enough time to learn in-depth about the characters.

I don't know firefly, but I'll give it a shot.

It's started, wasn't impressed with the first minute...but it's just suddenly improved.

Yeah, I'm enjoying it.
It's on a commercial channel though, so have a 5 minute advert break every 20 minutes or so.....like now.

my advice would be to watch firefly first. serenity is much more enjoyable and powerful that way.

I'm glad I watched Serenity before I saw the show because once I watched Firefly it made me really appreciate how great Serenity is. I know Joss Whedon tried to make the film more accessible to the general audiences but you just get an entirely new appreciation for the film if you've seen the show beforehand.

A bit late now, but I can see where you're coming from. I have no real idea why the Alliance is so bad except that they've affected the girl's psychological wellbeing in some way.

Eh, watch the movie and then the series. That way you go from good to GREAT. The characters do much better in tv format where they could get developed.

She was already over 18 when Firefly started plus I'm quite a bit younger than you so I can understand why you feel that way. wink
