I'll contribute with my own complete lack of knowledge. Now, I do have a gas grill, a generic type that I got from BBQ's Galore many years ago and it's been a steady performer ever since.
I have no idea what an infrared ceramic burner is. Does it plug in?
Likewise, no idea on Weber. I used to have a Weber charcoal grill a long time ago, but that's about it.
Happy shopping, I'm sure you'll get something you like.

I've never bought a Weber, I'd rather replace every few years than spend that money. LOL Take care of it and you don't need the highest dollar grills. Wouldn't go TOO cheap though, you need some features. I use a nice 4 vertical burner grill (4 going away from you, not left to right that is), and it's got to have a built in thermostat. My current one is lasting well now since I keep it in the garage and out of the humidity. Cast iron grates which I like very much. DO NOT get those if you live in a humid environment and certainly don't put it under a cover then. Traps moisture and it rusts quickly. Oil every part of the grate surface every time I use it, no water touches it. Probably use it 3-4 times a week 9 months out of the year. Tank pressure drops so much in the cold weather than I don't bother much during the Winter unless it's a warmer day.
I've never used infrared, but I've seen that on these things lately. I thought it was more for rotisserie cooking than regular grilling though? I could be wrong.

Find one that can cook at a high temp. Nothing beats a Pittsburgh rare steak. Flash cook the bugger.

I don't know anything about grilling. I have a beat up Weber gas grill with the lava rocks in the bottom. My friend, however, is the grill guru. Always grilling out..and he swears that the best grill ever is this thing: http://www.biggreenegg.com/Just passing it along..

The midlife crisis is the best scam ever invented by Man. The gender Man, that is. "Hmm...need an excuse to buy a new car, gadgets and have a little out of the ordinary fun that I've eared for a change! What to do... Ah ha! I'm having a "crisis" that's it!" Respect the mid-life crisis! Keep the secret!
