Hey Guy's, Might have found a possible work around for the lastest mods coming from our comrades in Russia that has that unfortunately not so nice side effect of changing our English GUI to Russian . After you have activated all your mods (except the Unofficial_patch_SF_v0.1_eng mod ) through JSGME. Activate your Tiger_Mod_0.98 then activate the Unoffical_patch_SF_v0.1_eng mod last and low and behold your GUI is now back to English. Installing the Unoffical patch last only changed three files, one in SFK42, one in SP 1.4 and one in the Tiger Mod 0.98 I just did a quick look around and all of the games GUI are changed back to English. I also played one mission each with the KV-2 and Tiger and all appears to be working. All the missions appear to be present also for each tank type. I wanted to get this out there since it's late and I cannot test it completely, so if a few of you other SFK42 players want to check it out with me maybe we can see if this is a bonafide solution or not

Some early findings, 1). In IS-2 the campaign brief is in English, but the mission objective brief is still in Russian. It shouldn't be a huge problem since the in game subtitles give you your objectives as you start them and they are in English. 2). In the IS-2 the compass/turret/hull rose indicates an incorrect position for the turret/hull in the commanders position, it's reversed (180) for where the commander is looking. Compass/turret/hull rose gives correct reading in gunners and other position. 3). All other vehicle campaigns and mission briefs are in English.
I did not get a chance to see if this incorrect compass/turret/hull reading in the commanders station is effecting all vehicles yet. But if it is a possible solution might be to activate the 2.0 or 3.0 compass mod after the Unofficial Patch mod. If I remember correctly this was a glitch that was addressed after the Unofficial Patch mod. More testing to do but so far it's looking promising. Cheers

I'm glad your running the Winter Mod as I don't have that important mod activated right now. I also want to give the Panther/Hetzer mod a look see along with the single missions. Have one question though, my mod activation list is pretty close to yours except for one thing, I don't have the T-60 mod activated. If I understood the Tiger Mod v0.98 correctly the T-60 mod with it's campaign/missions are included, did I miss something?

Hello godzilla yes you are absolutely correct! i deactivated the T-60 mod and the campaign was still playable so it must have been included with the Tiger mod, i did not know that. And a question for you wich is a bit offtopic if you dont mind, do you know how it is possible to change the playable tanks in the single missions? I wonder if i can do it by changing some text files or maybe i have to use the mission editor/builder?

Hey Schweppes, I don't know easy/hard it might be in changing the single missions that were included with the game or with the SP 1.4 patch. It maybe possible, but you might run into major problems with the scripts, triggers or other items that were written with those missions. So it might not be a straight forward as just changing the units used via the mission editor. But if you managed to DL any of those missions from Fabinfred those might be very changable since they don't show up under the Single Missions but under User Made Missions. I wanted to bring this up because User Made Missions you can delete without screwing your install up. If you mess up a game Single Mission I don't know if the same applies, you could very well end up having to do a complete reinstall. Plus he didn't write any complicated scripts or triggers for his missions (if any at all), he made them very simple since he was just learning the mission editor, so it might be possible to change the units used in the missions with the mission editor and not run into any other problems that might appear in changing the games Single Missions. He had one mission that come to mind that might be a good place to start as a simple experiment. It was a simple Wehrmacht "advance to contact" mission. I think the Germans had PzIII's & IV's and the Russians had Matildas and Valentine's. Both were converging on a small Russian village and it was just a straight out tank slug fest. The mission does not have a script written to end it, you just end the mission by ESC. Theres no infantry, artillery or air cover for either side, and no second objective.

Hi godzilla and thanks for answering! I was hoping it would be rather easy to change the playable tanks in single missions, there are some missions wich would be great to test out different tanks instead of the regular ones but i think i shouldnt mess to much around with it incase i screw something up.
Too bad the developers never made a mission or campaign generator, pick your favourite tank and play missions and campaigns like there was no tomorrow:)
I actually never tried any user made missions except the ones we get from the mods, i will give it a try and if i feel bold a day ill maybe try to tweak a little bit.
Thanks again!

I was hoping it would be rather easy to change the playable tanks in single missions To change playable tanks in missions and campaigns easily enough if you have the unpacked files of scripts of missions or campaigns. Open unpacked file in any text editor \data\k42\loc_rus\levels\levels\scripts\<campaign_name>\<mission_name>_scripts.engscrLook in sections user_human() name of marker of user division. In original campaigns and missions - tnk_plat1user_human(){tnk_plat1:AAA, wp_gunner, 1;} In the next section divisions() find a line beginning with tnk_plat1 and replace the second parametre tnk_plat1, rkka_platoon_mtank3, rus_tanksa, -1, 2, rkka_attacka, 1, 1, 0.3, 1.0, 1.0, 0x2, rkka_comp_1, 0.0; rkka_platoon_mtank3 (3x T-34 + infantry) on other division, for example rkka_platoon_htank2 (2x KV-1 tank) Look codes of divisions in \docs\editor_manual_eng.pdf, page 63, Table 10.1 - Division codes. Or in file common_units.engcfg (IMMSMC) If you have a mod which allows to play tanks from this division you can play in this mission in this tank. Enjoy

Great news 1_m I started to think it would be impossible to change player tanks but this looks to be quite easy! Thanks again 1_m.
