We had a few ostriches back in the '80s. They and emus are really dangerous. They can disembowel a person, even a horse, with one well placed kick. You've really got to be careful around them.

That guy either has cojones of steel, or he'd been drinking. After watching him fight the bird, I doubt the trooper questioned him much further. LOL

They are pretty damned dangerous, but I'll tell you something, did ya'll see that wrap-up on the tackle? Jerry Jones needs to suit that guy up.

truth that dinossaurs evolved into birds...lol..are those sounds inserted for fun ? only heard ornich (is that the spell ? ) scream, all the emus at the zoo i saw were pretty quiet.....if a big bird shriekd at me like that, there is no way i would entangle with it, specially one with those legs....too bad that giant emu on south america is extinct, i would to see one of those.

is that how it goes around there, i found a wild animal i can take it home ? the animal protection and ibama would be all over me for something videotaped like that.

Blade, technically they aren't considered 'wild' animals, more like feral animals, because they were basically livestock that have escaped or have been turned loose. At one time emus, rheas, and ostriches were very expensive. When the market went bust a lot of people simply turned the animals loose. In some areas they are real pests.

The tackle is classic but the kicker, no pun intended, is the guy's wife. She's just standing around, looking for rope, calmly watching, handing him rope. My guess is this guy does stuff like this every day smile

The guy is definitely redneck.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.
