...which is why I don't play a lot of this game.
Private room game night, played with a bunch of friends who *do* play it well.

That was hilarious. I laughed throughout the video. If it weren't for your name in the gamertag at the bottom of the screen I'd have sworn that you secretly video taped one of my typical evenings. LOL!

I've had nights like that. In fact, last night I reached rank 70. I must be pretty good, right? Then next round, in Hardcore TDM, I go 3-17 and get pwned like a complete newb. Then I go 25-12 the match after that and lead all scorers. You just never know. Some nights I feel like smashing my controller, fist and head through my monitor. My dog runs and hides. Seriously. Other nights I play really well.

It's amazing how much of it is luck. For instance, you walk through a doorway, you can turn left or right, you turn right. There's a guy to your left you never see. He kills you. In the Kill Cam you see that he was in the middle of re-loading when you walked through the door. If you go left, he's dead. Instead, you're dead. In the round where I went 3-17 I was shot from behind by people I never saw about 12-13 times. Spawn, take 2 steps, BOOM! Dead.

But, there's skill too. You also see that in the Kill Cam. Some people are just able to lock on and aim a lot quicker than I am. More often than not when I go face to face with someone and lose it's because my aim was off. Simple as that. I'm aiming at the knees and stomache while they're shooting at my chest and head. Guess who's gonna win that one?

But, when in doubt, I break out the great equalizer. The trusty ol' NEWB TUBE! LOL!

There is alot of familiarity there. It's unfortunate that is you have a bad game, and your team is having a bad game, it doesn't get any better until the round ends. Between harriers, helicopters, predator missiles, and sentry guns, dying becomes a regular occurrence.

Oh yeah, there's skill. Not so much tactics, but some people are simply good with the hand-eye coordination. Not me!
We play with no perks/no killstreaks in the private rooms, and limited respawns. I'd be even worse if we had all of that on. LOL
Still fun with friends though.

Ya my aim is often off, generally due to panic. Worst case scenario is when I get into a chicken dance (knife fight in a phone booth)with someone one-on-one, I'll be fumbling for my knife and end up dropping a grenade between our feet

Great video RK! It all looked so familiar. LeemzHQ is so right. One thing I've noticed, I can't count the times I've died because I took a knife swing while I was aiming. Tried changing the controller setup but then it messes with the kneel lay down buttons.

Another peeve of mine is the classic (first noticed this phenom in Battlefied Vietnam) guys runs through opening while you are in the kneeling position. So we have a guy running, shooting from the hip ,while you are stationary, waiting for your next victem, and he kills you. What da?? This makes no sense to me, until I factor in my 'suckish' factor.

INDEED!!!

I have no scientific data to back it up but I estimate that I've died somewhere in the neighborhood of 9,456,874,227 times from accidentally trying to "knife" an opponent from 100 meters away!!!! Especially when aiming quickly to the right.

Ah-hah! An enemy to my right. Swoosh (the sound of knifing nothing but air). Ratatatat. Groan. I'm dead.

Quiet honestly I don't think I've completed a single round without it happening at least twice. I've thought about re-mapping the buttons but I know it'll just mess me up on something else.

I remember recently trying to crouch but whipping out the knife instead. Right behind a team mate.
It was in the private room with damage set to "reflect" so I actually team killed myself while trying to crouch and stabbed myself to death.

I just tried my luck with the riot shield. The bullet sponge that I am, I found that it's actually pretty funny watching people getting killed byt he shield, then also mauling people with it. Hillarious.

Just watched this and it's all too familiar. I play online with my son who is way up there in rank and we end up on these non newb servers and I get my...well you know...handed to me all the time.
I think my biggest kill streak was maybe two. LOL

I hate nights where I cant do well like that!

Anyway the best way to not die is just jump whenever you start getting shot.
It works surprisingly well.

I hate bunny hoppers. The counter for that was always having more lethal weapons, but I can remember playing the original call of duty on the PC, and the bunny hoppers had that move down where they would jump then go prone then drop you. I think there were those when MW came out and tried it, then summarily got themselves killed because the weapons are so much more lethal.

The first offense for bunnyhopping should be punishable by a 10 year ban on online gaming. The second offense should be punishable by death.

But, what I would prefer is that developers simply didn't allow any form of jumping unless there was something nearby to jump onto or over. Seems like it'd be an easy thing to program.

You'd think. I remember the battlefield 2142 would let you jump once, then you couldn't again for a bit, kind of like being fatigued because BF2 would get bad with guys doing the porpoise maneuver.
