Watchmen is GREAT on BR as well. Just a very well done release, great overall quality, and the film itself rocks! Maybe not for 8-year-olds though.. smile

This was actually the first movie I rented after I got my home theater. I had it cranked up to test it out and I about crapped my pants when that first cannon shot came out of the fog. Probably didn't help that due to the layout of the room I was maybe 3 feet from the sub when that happened. I actually felt the vibration which actually added to the effect.

I've read online that the extended LOTR movies will be released on bluray when "The Hobbit" comes out in theaters.

I wonder if Jackson will change the green gollum in the fellowship to match the final gollum in TT and RotK?

interestingly the best use of my new bluray player which I love is the playing of live music DVD's. The panasonic player must have a brilliant decoder as the music is so pure and alive, sounds analogue eg David Gilmour live at gdansk. So have a go at music as well as movies , you will be thrilled

Actually, the theatrical BD version of LOTR will be released in april of 2010, but the extended version won't be released until 2011.

They are going to do the LOTR sales show all over again. First the theatrical editions in 2010, then I bet they'll make a three pack and market that. Then they'll release the extended editions, and then a three-pack with those. Marketing. Bah! Why can't they just release the extended cuts right away?

Problem with p0rn is that its quite shocking to see how many of those female p0rn stars have bad skin. It really shows on high def!

I just need to say one thing to answer that question.

Do you want to see Ron Jeremy's hairy ass in HD?

*shudder*
