Hi guys-

I migrated this topic to a new post as my question is pretty clear.

I'm getting a new Cyberpower PC with the OS loaded on a RAID O Velicoraptor array (I know, nice problem to have).

So... I go out and by a Kingston 60 gig SSD, and would like to move the OS to the SSD, especially while there is nothing loaded on the new computer apart from Windows 7.

Getting good input from RSColonel and others, but wanted to put this out there for the rest of you.

Would, for example, this be the answer?

dash, you are like me in doing a new operation. We need more than the "image drive to secondary source" instructions. I don't do well assembling IKEA furniture either.

Got you there man!

I used to work as a framer, can do minor car repairs, and rewired/fixed the family drier. But odd tech topics defeat me.

One of them is RAID. I set it up OK, it worked great for me, but I'm otherwise scared to go near it!

I thin Acronis must work mostly through a boot disk/the bios, as Windows doesn't seem to see a RAID array as anything other than a single drive.

Another question--- what's so damn hard about cloning a RAID array anyway?

You're right, I am like you. If I had one free practice run (i.e. I could screw things up to my heart's content) I'd be fine. But that ain't how it works is it!
