Hey Crim! Good to hear from you. It's been a very long time since I-Magic and the Sunday meets. I've remained pretty much a lurker here. Amazes me how your site grew into what it is today. You must be proud. It's a great place for sim info. Welcome back. John

It's good to see you continuing your quality work for the site. Old folks, new folks, folks in the middle...there's a reason why SimHQ is the best resource in gaming...and it's in the quality of the folks who continue to contribute.

So...here's a challenge to the new(er) folks...get involved. Submit your ideas. Write a review. Give an opinion. Add your energy to the pulse of this website...it's why we are what we are.

Wowie! Suddenly being a member of the site since '01 and being the Asst Forum's Manager for over five years...I feel very small in the company of this topic. Great to see the legacy members...and you lurkers...stop lurking and start contributing! wink

cheers

Crimson...I'll vouch for Doug. He's done and has continued doing an excellent job with the site.

Wow...Andy's here too! <S>

I would love to see Dan 'Crash' Crenshaw come back here too. I really miss that guy. Bubba is missed too. Is he still with AMD? I've lost track of him.

Andy, good to hear from you. I don't have anyone to pick on anymore since you went semi-retired. Troll, good to hear from you too.

John Sponauer got me into this site. We beta tested Panzer Elite together and for some reason he thought I would do well here. The FOOL!!!!!

I haven't seen this many old folks in one place since I visited my grandmother in the nursing home. wink

How the hell is everyone? Doing fine here, but busy as can be. School (going for an MBA), work, life, family (my oldest was born the same time as my first SimHQ article in 1998), etc. Everyone knows the drill. Don't do much flight simming these days, but play Call of Duty on the Wii a bit when I have some downtime. For shame, for shame, I know. wink

Great to see everyone. Doug and gang have down a phenomenal job with things. I hope you've replaced the sheep at some point.

Check six!

And I finally have my moment to thank the man the wrote the air combat how-to articles that changed my online life and solved a 10-year mystery of why I wasn't getting it. Your article easily explained what I was doing wrong, and how I could do it right. And it changed how I flew instantly. Suddenly I can see the sight picture and know what's going on. Hard to explain the vast difference between then and now.

Thank you so much for those articles.

For any new members who might not have seen the Air Combat Corner Library, take a look here:

You'll find a wealth of flying knowledge.

You can just hear all those arthritic fingers cracking at the keyboard, cant you?

biggrin

Like a lot of the old timers on here, i defected from combatsim.com when it went payware (and now frugalsworld has gone as well - im getting old), and all these familiar names popping up has made me feel a bit nostalgic for AGP, SDRam, 80meg HDs, 3.5 inch floppy disks, and EAW!

So for all the guys I know....what have you been doing all these years?

Oh Sorry I missed the 10th anniversary. If I would've remembered when it was, I definitely would've showed up.

Holy cow! All the guys are here. Sorry I didn't get back here sooner, had to please the girlfriend. Hmm, should I tell her about the simulation addiction? wink

Wow, all these long time names. I was trying to remember what to say to everyone but I'll just say its great to be back and seeing all the guys here again. I was about to hop into a game of MW2 in Spec Ops but I had to reply. Took the day off on Monday.

I guess its a shame I missed the 10th Ann., it sure would've been nice to complete that time for you guys at SimHQ. Great work all of you as usual. Also, thanks to all the members too.

Man, it was a mistake for me not to stick around occasionally. It doesn't take a lot of time to say hi. I miss all of you guys, I realize it more now that I see all these names. I remember playing the first Rainbow Six which Spoons, Pigmy, and Archangel...either all or mixed numbers. Wow, back in those days you had to type "look out!". Now we have XBOX Live (and limited PS3 chat). Its a shame there aren't more sims but maybe one day I'll make one like I always wanted to. Hell I still have a very important document detailing steps in the sim making process by a guy some of you know who was the producer at I-Magic. I think it was Jim Hawler. I have the doc in my files so I didn't get it. For now i guess shooters like MW2 will have to do. Oh! and great racing sims like Forza 3. I just need a wheel again. wink

So what is everyone doing now? I'm still a Web Programmer and lately I'm getting into smartphone technology and development. I dumped PCs for Macs and Blackberry for an iPhone. Next stop, Google Android and Chrome OS. I'm also got a few sites and lately I need to build my personal studio site and my blog.

So what games are you guys playing? If you guys have time that is. I assume many are now married and the planes are now stuck in the hangar. wink
