Saw my first nuke last night. And I was on the losing side. In a way it was sorta cool. You get a siren warning before seeing a flash of white light.

When I checked the score at the end of the game the highest scoring player only had about 28 kills, so getting 25 in a row is quite a feat.

It didn't shorten the game by much, it seemed like the game was just about to end anyway. But, I think it turned the tide of the game. I'm pretty sure our team was winning (Domination) when they got their hands on the nuke and pushed the button.

The worst part was that I was having my best-ever round. I think I was 24-6 at game's end.

It didn't take long... two Timmy Tangos of the same clan on opposite teams decided it would be fun to place tactical spawn points next to each other and take turns racking up 25 kill streaks. After the third match in a row was decided by a nuke, someone discovered their ploy and used it against them to the tune of 25 kills and his own nuke. I think my avatar was glowing green by the end of the night.

I got my 25 killstreak. Didn't have the nuke killstreak as one of my three so no nuke... hrm..

I got a 16 kill streak today and probably would have gotten higher but we ran out of time. Had to pick up 3 different weapons in that time.

I got Nuked last night, I kept hearing the horn and couldn't figure out what that sound was. Must admit it was pretty cool.

My brother was up and online last night under my name, he was on the map with the railroad as a sniper. I want to say the gun was the W4200 or something like that, a large stocked gun. He killed 11 guys and never died. Was pretty much around the same area which I'm surprised people didn't catch on with the kill came where he was...

Hardcore considerably reduces the run around gnat-to-tactically savvy ratio. So does playing a bit later than the US East Coast home from school hour! wink

I've only encountered one nuke and I came in with only a few minutes to go in the session. It appeared a very good clan was protecting the guy going for the nuke count. I could respect that, even as I was getting melted down!! wink

Played a private room with a bunch of friends the other night. Amazing. The way the game is meant to be played. There are enough larger maps now to accomodate the 18 players decently. The game gives you some very nice customization options. We played hardcore, longer rounds (10-15 min), no perks, no kill streaks/death streaks. The best COD gaming I've seen, it was almost like Ghost Recon. Search and Destroy with the longer time limit becomes fun and not just rushing around. No respawn TDM (LMS) was excellent. We also did a lot of limited respawn games in CTF, Domination and TDM with 3 lives each. It added a lot to the game. You had objectives that could win the game but you also had to be concerned with simply staying alive so your team didn't run out of soldiers. You could die out and give them a win. It was a great time. Most everyone at this point has risen in rank enough to get the weapons they want, and with no perks, it leveled the playing field in that respect. This game improves 10x when you get to slow it down and appreciate it more. Hard to get people to do this regularly since the need to unlock and rank up is so strong (ruining the game after a while), but when it works it works well. If they would get rid of that prestige crap you'd see more people getting more out of the game itself in private rooms IMO. I recommend giving it a shot.

I usually go to an xBox cafe with 6-7 buddies of mine to play COD once a week. We play the same mode, but with respawns on.

You're right, it is incredible how much more fun the game becomes. Plus you have the added bonus of trashtalking in person. biggrin

To each his own of course but I couldn't disagree more. If I want to play a tactical shooter I'll play R6V or GRAW, I like CoD for being CoD, fast deathmatch fun with over the top antics.

I've seen enough people run and gun in those to know that I'm just bringing balance back to the force. LOL
Main problem: Rainbow and GR just aren't that great now. Vegas 2 tried to be CODMW and I played it for a week. GRAW games...targeting is too drunk to really enjoy it like the previous games. OFDR...the game types are pretty lacking IMO. Using COD as a fill in works pretty well. Battlefield is slower than COD and helps a lot, but playing COD like the other night sure felt good. I miss games based on no respawn or at least limited respawns.

Hardcore with no respawns.... now that would be the game I would love to play on every map.

When you either have no respawns per round, or on hardcore... or both, the game slows down a lot. I think it is much more fun that way. The anticipation of a fight can be more exciting than the fight.

I found that I had a hard time reading the last three words hehehe biggrin I agree with your sentiment though bisher. Its great when the careless, nutty run and gunners get snuffed out by tactical wonders. Maybe that could be the official SimHQ band.

lol Coot, with the accompaniment of blaring trumpets that'd be perfect. If only we could get some mod that gave us all bell bottom pants, then we'd be set. smile

Just saw a nuke for the first time tonight. Then had it happen the second game in a row too. Both times it was someone on my team though so I wasn't complaining too much. ar15
