I have FSX installed under Windows 7 64bit. I set the frame rate slider to unlimited. This caused corruption in the graphics. I reset the slider to 20, but the graphics corruption continued. I then did a restore point without success. I finally did a reinstall of FSX and my graphics drivers. None of this has seemed to solve the problem. The graphics card is an GeForce GTX 285. Any suggestions as why this might be happening? pitchafit

Basically I get flashing of textures of diffrent colors in front of my aircraft and on the ground and black spikes. Hard to get a screen shot since they are brief. Also get major fluctuation in frame rate which wasn't present before flying over the same area previously.

Doesn't really sound like it would be related to the framerate slider. Check temperatures on the card, run other games to see if you get artifacts there as well?

It's the frame rate slider. No problem until I moved the slider to unlimited. As soon as I did I started getting the corrupted graphics. All my other games run fine, no anomalies in graphics. It's just FSX that's the problem.

Using the latest 195.62. No problems until I messed with the frame rate slider

I fixed the problem by reinstalling Windows 7. Everything is back to normal. Autogen maxed out. I duplicated the problem by putting the frame rate slider to unlimited. I got the corruption in graphics again. For some reason some change is being made to windows. When I reinstall windows everything is fine. The only change I am making is to place the frame rate slider to unlimited. If I leave it at 20 no problem. Why this is screwing up my system I don't know.

Turn OFF Dx10 is its on.

Also lower your graphic settings, corruption is a sign of too high settings.

If it's because settings being too high then what I do not understand is why I am using the same setting I used on my old system. The settings I use are what I was using with a GeForce GTX 8800 and Windows XP, now using GeFore GTX 285 Windows 7. Actually the graphic corruption disappears with Dx10 on,but it runs slower with more stutter.
